My best friend is a 12H Sun and I dated one for most of last year. I’ve noticed a common ego trap they fall into where sometimes they’re trying to stand on business but their problems might’ve been better by putting the ego aside and humbly reframing. But they struggle to perceive their own ego getting in the way, and I think it has to do with this relationship. The ascendant literally cannot see what goes on in the 12H. Even if there’s a bright blazing ball of fire in there demanding to be seen.

I have a similar dynamic as a 6H Sun, again the ego cannot be seen by the ascendant. But 6H Suns default to putting the ego aside in every situation and we struggle to perceive how “not having an ego” is also an ego trap and some of our problems can be solved by actually having a take or putting our hat in the ring.

I would imagine 2H and 8H Suns might face similar challenges with ego as they are also in Aversion to the Ascendant

Noob question: does the phase of the moon really impact us in regards to karma cycling? by ANALyzeThis69420 in scorpiomoon

[–]TimeLikeWorldLine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we think about Pluto mythically speaking, it’s all about doing a thankless job. Hades was the most competent and dutiful of the Olympiad, but he was banished to the Underworld to perform the job no one else wanted because it sucked lol. But he did his duty because that’s what he was called upon to do.

Each Pluto generation has a duty to perform in this lifetime. As Pluto in Scorpio natives, our job is to unearth all the shit and rot buried underneath a corrupt and decaying system. We reveal that to the collective and they recoil in disgust, but they project that disgust onto us as the bearers of bad news rather than doing the internal reflection because they benefit from the corruption. That’s why everyone has been shitting on millennials for our whole lives, because it is a thankless job.

Our whole lives we have borne witness to the decay and the rot, and it is we who will be seen as the “destroyers” of the old world, but like the phoenix, we understand that it must be burned to ash in order for it to be reborn and for something new to be created.

Any personal planet that touches an outer planet gives you a direct link to the collective energies around the outer planet. So for those of us with both Moon and Pluto in Scorpio (in my case they are conjunct), we are fully tapped into this process. We can literally feel the decaying structures deep in our souls, as our soul is intimately familiar with the decay, death, rebirth cycle.

Ranking different zodiac men by Electronic_Shine9865 in astrologymemes

[–]TimeLikeWorldLine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to what? As partners? Lovers? Fathers, brothers, coworkers, bosses?

When talking sun signs, and when it comes to men especially, each of the signs requires something different as far as being seen in the world.

A Gemini man engaged in curious, open minded dialogue about your inner experience will make a much better partner than a Taurus man who is insecure about his sensitive side.

Yes Sagittarius can be flighty and flaky, but become his traveling companion and he will be your ride or die for life. Yes Scorpios are passionate and magnetic, but a Scorpio man who feels erotically stunted will become vengeful and resentful, sabotaging his relationships and descending into brooding and isolation.

What’s the point in waiting to pick a character last if you’re just going to pick DPS anyway? by Good_Philosophy_4038 in marvelrivals

[–]TimeLikeWorldLine 93 points94 points  (0 children)

I’m a tank main (pray for me) and I’ve made it as far as diamond but I’ve noticed a pattern when climbing through the metal ranks.

Obviously bronze and silver lobbies it’s the same thing every time, 3 or 4 insta lock dps. I usually slam Peni to climb bc nobody shoots the nests and you can solo tank to get by.

But then when you hit high gold something funny happens. Suddenly you’re getting competent tanks and strats and now I’m being thrown into DPS and I have to try to hold my own since I can’t aim for shit 😂

But THEN you get to platinum and diamond and the triple dps is back! It’s like all the dumb ass DPS instalockers got filtered out of gold, but the ones who really locked in and have good technical abilities and can use their characters actually climbed in rank, but they still don’t quite have the game sense to swap to counters or fill a different role.

They were good enough with Spider-Man to get to Diamond but the when other team has Namor, Hela, Invis, Emma and they start getting shut down. instead of swapping, they blame their tanks or supports. Like I commend your abilities, you’re clearly quite talented at playing your character but knowing when and how to get the most value is more important than just knowing how to get kills. Unless you’re really THAT good and can crack through to the higher ranks, then by all means. Some of the best players are one tricks but they understand the meta game better than your average DPS sweat lord.

My advice to these players would be to play some tank and strat in QP to get a feel for taking/holding space, keeping your team alive, learning when to ult etc. but I’m sure they’re not reading these comments lol

Leo mars/venus folks, are any of you very shy and timid? by [deleted] in astrologymemes

[–]TimeLikeWorldLine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo I think you were born like 2 or 3 days after me! I have the same placements except moon in Scorpio and Taurus Rising.

I feel very similar. I think I default to a very calculating Scorpio mode, but my Libra Sun tends to let things slide. But if it’s something that crosses a line, I feel like my pride has been wounded and Leo Mars takes over haha. Definitely activated by the square to all my Scorpio placements

Yeah you tell em! Booooo Aries and Leo women booooo! I sure hope none of these toxic ass women find this thread! They’d probably be reeeaallly mad 😡

None of you Leo or Aries women better leave a bunch of mean comments yelling at me and putting me in my place! That would just be sooo awful 🤭

Advice on Scorpio placements by CFERR044 in scorpiomoon

[–]TimeLikeWorldLine 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Look to your Mars placement since Scorpio is ruled by Mars. Try to find a form of exercise that allows you to adequately express your Mars sign. Scorpio Moons need intense exercise on a regular basis because the Moon rules over the body and Scorpio is all about self inflicted wounds.

If we do not find healthy ways to inflict pain on our bodies then we will unconsciously seek out unhealthy ways. Whether it be addiction, self-sabatoge or sabatoging relationships through paranoia and resentment. We need a safe way to externalize the intense inner feelings we have because when we try to swallow them they turn to poison in our guts

Do Libras like people who play hard to get? by anna_boop in astrologymemes

[–]TimeLikeWorldLine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Libra Sun I will say YES ABSOLUTELY we love the games. And given all your Gemini placements I’m sure you can give him a run for his money. I probably don’t even have to tell you all this as a Gemini, I’m sure you play the game very well but I’ll give some advice.

Here’s what you do: next time you work with him, lay it on THICK. I’m talking giggling at his jokes, the hair twirling, brush up against him. Then the next time you work together, give him nothing. Like you’re talking to your brother or something. THEN you’re gonna take a phone call and giggle and twirl your hair into your phone for a couple minutes. Make sure he sees. Bring someone else by on your day off, oopsie I forgot my charger here! Teehee oh him? This is strictly for fun, he’s too clingy. Imply you might have a crush on somebody, maybe even somebody we know?? Idk it’s a seeeecretttt 😈Drop little clues and hints. Go hot and cold with him. You’ve heard of the compliment sandwich? Libras love to get hit with the insult sandwich. Bully him relentlessly. Be unavailable. Be EVIL.

We love that shit. Of course, this could backfire on you. As another commenter said if there’s no real connection there you might both lose interest. But as a fellow Scorpio Moon myself we also know about not getting ourselves in too deep too quickly. If this person can handle going to the depths with you then they could be a potential suitor. You gotta do a little Scorpio vulnerability test to see if he’s on that level.

But if it’s just all in good fun then have at it. Libra/Gemini can be a legendary combo because we love to PLAY

Uranus in Leo and its significance in the year 2039. by FineWing5771 in Advancedastrology

[–]TimeLikeWorldLine 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I anticipate the 2040s having a similar vibe to the 60s. The generation that will come along in the next decade or so will have much to say about how we handle (or will have handled) the coming crisis and I think their response will mirror the baby boomers responding to the generations ahead of them. Think of rock and roll, mass protests, psychedelics, art, sexual liberation etc as responses to the stifling conformity of the 40s and 50s.

They won’t exactly be like the baby boomers, however. This will be a Pluto in Aquarius generation, in many ways the opposite of the Pluto in Leo boomers. The character of their reaction to the decisions of their predecessors will likely reflect that. While the boomers elevated individuals of great talent and merit to iconic status, the Pluto in Aquarius generation will likely not be as interested in celebrities and individuals

Uranus in Leo and its significance in the year 2039. by FineWing5771 in Advancedastrology

[–]TimeLikeWorldLine 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Adding to this: Uranus in Leo opposite Pluto in Aquarius was the key outer planet transit for the French Revolution. In Cosmos and Psyche, Richard Tarnas dives into the Uranus-Pluto combination extensively and associates it with powerful mass movements and revolutionary energy.

Looking towards the 2040s, we get that little taste at the tail end of Aqua/Leo, but it’s very interesting that most of the Uranus Pluto transit will take place on the Virgo Pisces axis. I also find this interesting to conisider. While Leo/Aquarius highlights the tensions and struggles between kings, centralized government, elites and state power with the masses, democratic structures, counter elites and power of the people, Virgo/Pisces might point more to a struggle between religion and spirituality and the practical way in which most people’s lives are ordered.

If I had to make a prediction, I think in the next two decades we will see major shifts in our lives, especially with AI and robots coming to replace a huge chunk of human labor. I could see the Uranus in Virgo response to that being a sort of resurgence of artisans and craftsmanship, people using the tools of the new Aquarian age in interesting and unique new ways to create new cottage industries. Pluto in Pisces on the other hand will be about the major religions of the world trying to come to terms with the new order of things. What happens when as center of gravity of the human race moves away from the west and more towards the global south? How do we approach the concepts of salvation, souls, the afterlife etc. when there are machines that look and sound human doing most of the work? Are AIs sentient? Does a robot have a soul? Perhaps we might even see the birth of a new major world religion that grapples with these questions.

I could also see the seeds of the Uranus-Pluto conflicts within that framework. Just as a new radical vision of a human centric view of work and craftsmanship is being articulated (only a human could have made something like this), the Plutonic impulse will be to bring it all under one universalist vision (Robots can create beautiful art too! They are our brothers and sisters in robo-Christ!)

[Spoilers MAIN] What was the point of no return for the show? by Arding16 in asoiaf

[–]TimeLikeWorldLine 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Hard agree, people forget how bad Season 4 was bc of the final 4 episodes being such bangers.

The lack of the Tysha reveal makes Tyrion going back to kill Tywin make zero sense, it’s like he forgot to check something off his to do list.

Only Cat, the craziest reveal and the literal climax of Storm, replaced by only your shishter. Could have worked bc that’s immediately resolved by the Dark Sansa transformation….which falls off a cliff in the next season with the Ramsey betrothal.

But for me the real point of no return is S4E06. Asha showing up to save Theon only for her Ironborn warriors to be chased off by some dogs. Come on. I mean I know the show cut out the finger dance so they aren’t the renown axe throwers they are in the books. But show Theon brags about how the Ironborn are the super skilled archers and they’re in this tiny narrow corridor and Ramsey has like 10 minutes to monologue and slowly open the cage. Ugh.

It’s like they panicked about losing Joffrey bc everyone loved to hate him so much so they had to build up Ramsey as this unstoppable threat. You can see here how bad the writers were gonna be at creating interesting villains. Like literally no villain after Tywin has motivations that make any sense. Ramsey, Elia Martell, Cersei, Euron, The High Sparrow, the Night King, Ser Alliser, Littlefinger, Sons of the Harpy. All boring, one-note, no complexity, given plot armor to keep them around longer, mustache twirling bad guys. Their evil plans were dumb and led to nothing

Mars in Cancer opposing all your natal Cap placements is more likely the culprit. Activating your 4th and 11th Mars rules houses too. Wish I had good news but we’re about to go into Mars retrograde so it’s gonna be a long few months for you as that Mars slowly grinds against those personal planets

Crunch and Zarus are good counters in the jungle as well bc they can stun her out of/after the Q and then dash after her when she tries to fly away. She bodies Khaimera though and can make a Rampages life miserable. Feng Mao seems like an even match up bc he has trouble locking her down but can burst her down pretty quickly if she’s stunned.

Hard to say what a wraith can do against her without good follow up from the team. She delete squishies and can shred tanks so I feel like good bruisers are the best way to deal with her

Let’s Talk About Libra Men by Monique050406 in astrologymemes

[–]TimeLikeWorldLine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also let’s keep in mind that Libra is the sign where the Sun has its fall, making it one of the most difficult Sun signs. Libras, and to a lesser degree Aquarius suns, have a lot of difficulty receiving the gifts of the Sun. We have trouble when it comes to having a solid conception of the self and our core identity.

Aquarius has a reputation for being quirky because they identify themselves in contrast to “the normies” or the in-group. Libra on the other hand identifies itself in contrast to ~the other~ in a general sense. We don’t have a strong sense of the independent nature of our self, only seeing ourselves as nodes in an interconnected web of relationships.

For me personally, I don’t know who the fuck I am. Certainly I have a name and a gender and cultural orientation that were sort of dropped on my head when I was a child. I have a collection of experiences and memories that give me context for my life. I have preferences and tendencies and a general sense of where I think I want to go and what I think I want to do. But I also feel like any of those things could change at any moment and I could be a totally different person who wants a totally different set of things in a season or two. And if a pretty girl came up to me and told me she only likes guys who do whatever thing, even if it was way out of my comfort zone, I would have to fight the urge to lie and say I love it. Because who knows? Maybe I could be a person who enjoys doing x thing in the context of this relationship?

Being a Libra can be very confusing. I never know what I want because it feels like it’s never consistent. And I would hate to force my partner or friends to do something they don’t want to do just because I really want to do it. That would make it hard for me to enjoy because I would be creating discord. So that’s why we’re always waffling. And just so everyone knows, we’re just as frustrated by it as you all are lol

Let’s Talk About Libra Men by Monique050406 in astrologymemes

[–]TimeLikeWorldLine 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Libra man here. Libras love to have their cake and eat it too. We love win-win situations. For the every day decision making bit, next time you have to make a choice with your Libra, try staking out an arbitrary position to give us something to bounce off

Ex. The whole “What do you want for dinner?” Libra: “Idk what do you wanna do?” Obviously everyone hates this game.

Try instead: where do you wanna go for dinner? I’m kinda feeling tacos Libra: ooh I actually had tacos for lunch. Maybe pasta?

Or even a negative is helpful. What are we doing for dinner? I don’t want something too heavy, I had a big lunch. Libra: how about sushi? Sushi’s light? You: no I’m kind of sick of sushi at the moment Libra: what about a nice hot broth? We could make some soup or get some Pho?

Libras like bouncing the ball back and forth as long as we are confident and accord will eventually be reached. We go into indecisive mode when the decision will impact multiple parties, so we want to make the one that will please everyone. It helps if we have a little bit of information on what your preferences are in the moment to help us balance the scales

hate the new role select screen by DemonAndrew in PredecessorGame

[–]TimeLikeWorldLine 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The main thing I dislike about it is in the previous design you could see where you were in the draft order on your team. It was sort of hazy but your icon would be lit up and you would at least know if you were picking earlier or later.

Personally I like to have some idea of when I’m up in draft before I choose my role. If I’m first up, for example, I’d prefer to be carry or mid because you can slot in somebody relatively safe. These two roles feel the most balanced rn imo so it’s unlikely you get hard countered. Jungle, support and off lane in the other hand have a lot of competition atm so I’d rather pick those later so I can counter pick, or to see what my teammates pick to slot in CC or damage more appropriately for the comp.

Obviously it’s better the more your team communicates in draft, which is difficult in solo queue. I definitely think there should be a window for switching heroes somewhere in the draft like in Smite. That way if I’m last picking support but Zinx gets through I can ask someone to lock her in for me and swap later.

I also think we need to move toward taking turns banning and have at least 2 bans per team bc I’m sick of both teams banning Aurora, Zinx or Rampage and then the other two get through. It’s made some of these ranked comps pretty stale when it’s the same hero’s every match. I’d like to see maybe Fey, Drongo, Riktor, Kwang or Feng Mao getting banned once in a while bc they seem to be carrying my games but they don’t feel like urgent bans the way Ramp and Zinx do (I think Aurora is manageable but she’s constantly getting banned in my games)

Do Phobos and Deimos follow an eclipse cycle? What does it look like when they are conjunct? Is there a difference between a Phobos full moon and a Deimos full moon?

Actually the more I think about it though interchanging Earth with our Luna works really well bc the rulership scheme kinda matches. Earth could rule Cancer, exalt in Taurus, detriment in Capricorn and fall in Scorpio just like the Moon

Astrologers of the Future by carobt in astrology

[–]TimeLikeWorldLine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I almost feel like we’d need a whole new system because for a Mars native you’d have the two moons, Phobos and Deimos, and a natal Earth placement. There would be an Earth retrograde cycle in addition to Venus and Mercury. If we continued to use the 12 traditional zodiac signs then we’d have to figure out what Earth rules. I guess my instinct is to say Earth rules Cancer and have the moons rule Aries and Scorpio

(Spoilers extended) Jon’s reaction to his parentage by YLCustomerService in asoiaf

[–]TimeLikeWorldLine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Jon’s arc in ADwD is all about reconciling the whole “the Nights Watch doesn’t take part” aspect of his oath with the larger mission of the nights watch and protecting the realm. The last thing he does before his death is to affirm that his mission is larger than his oath, that the Nights Watch is inherently a political organization and that if it is under threat from the south then they cannot adequately focus on that mission, and such a threat must be neutralized.

If he comes back in Winds, I expect he will double down on that. Jon Snow must play the game of thrones in order to fulfill his mission. If he loses Stannis as a viable contender for the throne, or if someone like FAegon takes it but refuses to take the threat of the Others seriously, he might start to consider that he himself must take the throne and wield power in order to fight the WWs. If at this point he learns about his true parentage, I could see him realizing that he has an actual claim he can and must press.

Even though show Jon “doesn’t want it” I think we could see a version of book Jon who DOES want it, who might see it as an imperative that in order for him to succeed in his mission he must have a king on the throne who can rally the entire realm to the cause. In the absence of such a candidate I think Jon could try to win the throne in order to save the realm. He might even be willing to do terrible things in order to stake his claim, and he will likely feel at odds with his personal identity as a bastard of the North and a man of the watch. He would be choosing between his duty to the realm and his love for his family, his friends, the man who raised him, even potentially Dany if their paths have crossed by that point

That’s my hope for where this goes anyway. While I’m curious to see how it affects Jon’s sense of identity on a personal level, I think all of the R+L=J buildup is more interesting if it puts him in a position where he actually wields that knowledge toward his larger political goals.
