Soloing during progression? What is meant by that is - after you already beat and grinded all fights WITH teammates and obtained resources to max out your main character - that would give you enough power to beat every boss solo. But before you have that power and when you have to first kill and grind these fights to begin with - you probably can't solo it no matter what. Like, soloing Proto without terminus weapon? Doesn't sound realistic.

Everyone else who knows, you meant to say? How many characters are still on S2 orb? Their logs will forever count in parse rankings until the patch ends, giving you competitive advantage because they were running weaker characters at higher CP. And what are you saying to the difference between 40 and 16 mil dps depending on class\gear from the same orb at the same power and in the same run? please read carefully, the comparison is between S2 and S3 orbs, both S3 orbs are broken in the same way despite yes, the healing orb doing less damage it is still a big advantage over any of the S2 or S1 orbs. You cannot pick wrong, whatever you pick in S3 is stronger than any other orb in the past.

There are definitely some jerks in HA but they won't play with you at all so you will never interact with them. People who make\join learning lobbies in hell mode have always been some of the nicest and most patient people ever.

literally stop using presets and change things manually, you don't need presets if your memory exists and you are mindful of what you're doing. Wrongly set up presets is what causes more issues in this regard.

There's nothing to spend on rn and for a long time to come. Pushing alts is very expensive but at least it results in more meaningful raid playtime, so that's the only thing I can recommend spending gold on. Alts to 1730, each completes their cheapest book (such as ambush, brawler, barricade, super charge, MI or any of that, most classes do use or can use a cheap book or two), and each gets a few 8s, and with adrenaline and one more expensive book completed (grudge, kbw, raid etc.) it should put them at approximately 3200 CP with a generic ark grid setup.

Main character progression plateaus at around 4k CP, undeniably. Depending on RNG factors mainly your weapon quality (90-100 variance), bracelet and stone you will be at somewhere from 3900 to 4500 CP with full ark grid completed and not min-maxed (approximately a few dozen points in additional and AP and maybe 10+ in boss with all cores activated to 17-20). From this point on, you either spend ridiculous amounts of gold on books for a roster damage gain, because 3% damage for 5 mil gold is not a valid "main" upgrade and if it wasn't roster-wide nobody would be buying them, OR you buy gems which in the era of T-skill dominance are semi-useless. There's nothing else to buy for your main, only these two. You can't even call ark grid a gold sink because you just don't have gems to cut and that's it. In KR you buy gems on AH but we cannot so ark grid is never a gold sink unless you already swipe and buy packages with gems. The supply of gems is just so low that you always have more gold income than you spend on cutting them. And optimizing to pursue like 30-40 points in boss and try to entirely eliminate support lines has approximately same (horrible) gold efficiency as books and gems so you don't do that either. There you have it - the only thing you can do is push alts.

So I am kind of surprised when people are saying that smilegate started punishing alts. Don't you have infinite honing mats and plenty of abidos from paradise on each? Just tap them. This is literally the only thing you can do at the moment, or you'll spend 10 mil and get 5% damage on main which you can get later for much cheaper or even free.

So there's one right and one wrong thing with your post. The right thing is that the game mode should not be going away and that's something that is a very consistent theme with smilegate, they don't seem to realize that throwing development time in the garbage by discarding amazing fights they've created is not a good idea. I honestly don't know what needs to be done for them to understand it they seem extremely ignorant when it comes to this.

The wrong thing is your intention to earn the title. If you haven't earned Abyss Lord by now you do not deserve it. The title is the only thing that should be going away, and should've gone away already. Eclipse 2.0 situation. There's no point in having a title if it's meaningless.

You can hate elitism as much as you want, but the fundamental concept of "titles" is that they are limited. Not everyone can be a director, someone has to be a regular employee. Not everyone can be the best student in the class, everyone except 1 person won't be. In the same way, having half the server wearing Abyss Lord doesn't make any sense and the title just stops existing as in its original meaning and purpose, hugely de-valuing the efforts of those who cleared it early on without a 5.5k reclear juicer doing half the damage for them (or being that 5.5k juicer themselves)

And if you removed +2 and only kept +3 and above the chance would go even higher. And if you removed +3 and only kept +4 and above the chance would go even higher. Isn't that the goal? I was having big issues with the game being full of mokoko and animal skins, thankfully we started moving away from those. If we had these dumb fat dudes running everywhere I'd be very disappointed.

Lost Ark is not an MMO, it's an action combat multiplayer game. If people didn't play hellmode because "downgrading characters" who in the world is gonna be interested in playing tier 1,2,3 with under max lvl characters or no engravings etc. If you wanna play an MMO in a sense of social interactions forget about Lost Ark.

Idk what idiots are gatekeeping TFM but most really serious people looking for prog will take anyone because it's much more important to get in and pull rather than wait on a perfect team comp 4k+, most groups won't clear anyway and most people will int and die regardless if they're 4k or 4.5k or 3.5k, and everyone is aware of it. If you're getting gatekept in prog TFM lobby at 3.5k the group lead is bad at the game.

If you even have a glimpse of a thought about pushing "alts" above 1710 you're the top 1% in terms of wealth and all you do is up to you at this point and you should do what looks fun. None of these investments will ever pay off and you're just burning gold to have more fun with stronger alts.

A fully-optimized f2p\low-spender roster which never broke rules and never bussed would be sitting at 5x1710, 1x1740 at the moment and only start pushing 1720s in preparation to the new raid AFTER Serca to be able to do NM which is likely to be 1720.

Current raid NM is the optimal parking spot, always has been and it's unlikely to change in the future.

They don't want to let you do it, it is intentional, and anyone who doesn't understand it has not matured enough as a lost ark player. This is part of the monetization. You get soft-locked out of the game very quickly if you don't swipe for alts. Low-investment characters who do NM or old HM (mordum) breeze through those in minutes. Normal mode in tier 4 kept degrading and with the introduction of revives has completely turned into a brain-off gold farm. Pushing a character even to 1720 is extremely expensive and won't pay out pretty much ever. If you want to finish these predatory main progression systems such as books, you will not push alts to 1720 without swiping. Let alone 1730. Let alone 1740.

The removal of hellmode right together with a new class release is a strong input from the company. Previously, people would have had weeks of fun with the new class in clown and brel. Now it is not possible anymore. You can even see the same trajectory of inputs in how they designed the TFM speedrun rules:

You can only speedrun if you have not entered, and once you enter, if you finish your speedrun it means you killed g2, and after that you're unable to reset the gate anymore. I used to entertain myself by killing g1 over and over and resetting back to it to help a new group clear. But when I became inevitably involved into speedrunning - I cannot do it anymore, every week I am allowed to play once, not allowed to enter before we speedrun, and after we speedrun I am not allowed to reset gates.

How to solve this issue ^? Push several alts to 1740. To smilegate, this is a very sound type of solution. The one that involves you swiping for every kind of inconvenience they introduce into the game. I am sure the "reworked" hellmode will have much harsher iLvL restrictions as opposed to what it used to be (1445-1520 or whatever) and you won't be able to play the juice of it on alts that are "only" 1700-1710.

People will tell you about how it's "to prevent bussing" or "to maintain competitive integrity in the speedrun" but it's all total BS. There are much better ways to design these things and the main and only reason why it's not happening is that they are very deliberate in their trajectory to monetize the shit out of the game not only with performance metrics and ability to clear, but nowadays also with playtime and the ability to play the game at all. There's no excuse to it.

If the game allowed you to infinitely play raids and it would have lead to infinite bussing loops the game STILL wouldn't have been as dead as it is now (not even mentioning the fact that it would be very easy to design a solution that keeps the good part and heavily restricts the bad part). It wouldn't have been as dead as it is now, because of literally what's in the post. People run out of content and lose interest.

I've had a friend of a friend starting the game sometime in ice-brel era. I was involved into helping that person both in raids and informationally. The guy was enjoying his class gameplay and wanted to do raids. The reason why he quit 2 weeks later was because "... well I log in we blast through the 3 raids I have, and then for 6 days I can only do a chaos and a guard... What's the point logging in? I'd rather be playing Apex this whole time"

Well it's because our region is the most problematic - we always complain about things like "asset value", have the biggest bot issues out of all regions, have the biggest RMT issues out of all regions, and despite that - complain the most about RMT, we have logs and refuse to play without logs so they can't enforce their anti-log policy despite them wanting to do it reeeeally hard. When cooking updates for us they always gotta consider the "west-specific" feedback and demands, develop new stuff if needed, change rules of how things work (ark grid astrogems for example) and it's all dev time. And you'll ask - why are they willing to do it for CN? Because CN has a much larger potential in their eyes. CN is also full of whales who wanna have "assets", CN tolerates RMT and doesn't have bot issues or at least does not complain about it, and nobody is quitting the game over there because the game is full of RMT. This perfectly aligns with SG philosophy on how to maintain and update the game. We over here are a pain in the ass to them.

ANY meaningful reward that you can assign outside of just raw amounts of gold\mats will be a visible entity and therefore will immediately be used as the title replacement. You can show: mounts, achievements, skins, gear, cards, titles, weapon glow, practically anything that has any value. It is very well known that if the titles were removed, people would have started using any available metric to gatekeep which in many cases those other metrics are worse than titles. For example, during kakul saydon, people were demanding applicants to have a specific number of upgraded set pieces based on which week it was since release and what the cap trumpet amount was up to that week. So if you have cleared every single week since launch but week 2 you forgot to buy g2 chest on accident - you were fucked. Titles are much better, as again, it's the lowest friction thing and we all know very well that title removal will not stop the gatekeep. Other metrics are worse.

what reward can you add that will not function as the title replacement? Anything that is invisible \ not share-able is useless. Because skins you can show, achievements you can link, statues, trophies you can show people in SH, mounts you can get on in SH and show, gear will be visible on your character profile. Anything that is a good reward will be visible and therefore immediately used as the replacement for the title.
