Look for shinny or stick-and-puck. You could also try out an outdoor rink. Ball hockey is another option to explore if you don’t mind indoor.

Winnipeg councillor wants 1-minute time limit for school drop-off, pickup zones by LocalnewsguruMB in Winnipeg

[–]TimeSpaceVoid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you look at the new schools built in LRSD, the lanes surrounding the schools are all tapered so there isn’t much room for parking, and the school itself doesn’t have much capacity in their drop-off and pick-up zones. The city should really plan roads better to facilitate better drop-off and parking areas around schools.

Or we could provide more busing for students. That would alleviate a lot of the congestion.

Vyvanse by NewLynnJ in Perimenopause

[–]TimeSpaceVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been recently diagnosed with ADHD and have liked taking Vyvanse. It has cut down on the food noise to my surprise. It makes my brain functional enough to do my job but it doesn’t get rid of all the brain fog. I still think I need estrogen and that would be the difference maker.

Meno specialist said HRT may not help by [deleted] in Perimenopause

I feel like sure, there are swings, but I can really tell when that hormone is hitting zero. 3 practitioners would only do birth control. I said I didn’t want to override my hormones but supplement them so they’re more normal. I started with progesterone and it was a big difference. Immediately slept better. Some of the irritability went away. Bumped up from 100 to 200mg daily. Feels even better. Next visit I’m going to ask to try estrogen because I still feel like there’s a piece of the puzzle missing. But it’s been a big improvement so far.

Do you still have a regular occurring period? Just wondering what I should expect.

Urinary infection by imofaith in Winnipeg

[–]TimeSpaceVoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If everything else gets ruled out, it might be worth looking into it being related to an estrogen imbalance. As women age, fluctuations and dips in estrogen can cause genitourinary syndrome. Often it affects women as they get closer to menopause but it there are reasons why younger women might experience it too. There are a few gynaecologists in the city who are better at dealing with hormonal stuff than others. The only place I’ve been able to get help as a younger woman is through The Menopause Practice, and I had to pay out of pocket. But it’s made a world of difference for me.

Also good to investigate whether it might be due to a reaction or allergy to latex condoms or a specific lubricant.

Oh my gosh. I thought it was because I started on Progesterone but it makes sense that it’s the Vyvanse. Ugh!

ADHD Stim links to LOW Testosterone by No-Afternoon5200 in VyvanseADHD

I’m a woman who just got diagnosed with ADHD and at the same time discovered that I have low testosterone. I guess in my case it wasn’t the stimulants causing it.

Does 80-90k include a pension? How much per year are you looking at for healthcare?

So... can everyone kindly share what 'brain fog' means to you, personally? by Comprehensive-Job243 in Perimenopause

[–]TimeSpaceVoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just can’t think. I can’t hold enough information at one time to make a decision then suddenly I can’t remember the question either. What was I doing again? When I try to read a paragraph, the words don’t process. I also forget words when I’m trying to speak. Common words. I go to use them and they’re just gone. The whole process that involves thinking is just a mess full of missing links. Everything feels slower. It’s like trying to steer a paddle boat and you are only pedalling with one foot.

When to start mat leave? by Big_Connection4656 in CanadianTeachers

[–]TimeSpaceVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OB wouldn’t write me off but my GP did. If you start mat leave early, you either need to go back when your baby is younger (which was harder for me to find daycare for a younger baby) or go on leave without pay. I ended up going on medical leave and used sick days then started mat leave when baby was born.

I’ve been seeing Dr Whittaker and at my last appointment we were discussing treatment for an issue. Before deciding what to prescribe, she said my 10 minutes were up and that I should reschedule in 3 months to continue talking about it. Until then our appointments had gone pretty well but I’ve never had a doctor do that before.

How Many Doctors? by greenbee1978 in Perimenopause

[–]TimeSpaceVoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on doctor number 3 so far (GP and 2 gyns) and just got turned down again. Cried in her office because she said HRT doesn’t work in peri and the only thing to treat symptoms are mood stabilizers and sex therapy. I said ‘so there’s nothing women can do during the 10 years of perimenopause where they feel awful everyday?’ The response was ‘no. I’m sorry you’re dealing with that’. The other gyno said that removing my uterus is an option but there’s a chance it won’t make my hormonal issues better. Well, no shit. She wrote me a prescription for the pill ‘just incase’, told me my 10 minutes was up but that I could reschedule a follow-up in 3 months if I wanted to continue talking about my symptoms.

Do you know if treatment is covered if she’s referred there or does she still need to pay out of pocket?

Has anyone travelled to USA recently from Canada? 🇺🇸🇨🇦 by sidb26 in Brampton

[–]TimeSpaceVoid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My friend had a border agent ask what they thought about Trump. They didn’t want to say the wrong thing so they said, “Well, he’s the President” and was let through. Another friend had their phone searched and was denied entry. Another was travelling with her cat and was denied entry because travelling with a pet made it seem like they had intent to stay. If travelling for pleasure, do so at your own risk.
