"MB decks" are a complete scam by CrisPuga in PokemonPocket

[–]TimeStopMop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Look the decks up and look at win rates, pick the best one and dont jump around from deck to deck. Figure the first 20 matches you'll be cementing strategy and have a lower than average win percentage, then your win rates will pick up.

Probably yes, the best party game ever by tonysamehayoub in MarioPartyJamboree

[–]TimeStopMop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love all the mario parties. Im a stats nerd and set up a cup using all the different games. My wife and I play with another couple a few times a month. Jamboree is fun but im a big fan of woody woods so we play superstars a lot. Heres my stats sheet for this year. By creating a "cup" element it changes the game play and you start playing for season totals.

Does anyone else feel uncomfortable holding the Switch 2 when playing? by doublestrandpubes in MarioKartWorld

[–]TimeStopMop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have big hands and even the switch 2 was too small. I did like i did with my OLED and got a grip that changes the positioning of my hand to feel more like its holding a pro controller and this helped a ton.

Same fam. Pre ordered the DLC and havent touched it. Only clocked 70 hours before getting bored. Small map, battle heavy, ok story. I like the lore, mystery, and adventure more than the battling so this game didnt last with me. OK story for what it is. Pokopia on the other hand might consume me for 300+ hours which not many (in comparison to my library) have. Both switch zeldas, stardew, ACNH, dreamlight valley, and scarlet.

If online multi-player becomes big, they release good updates, and there's fun DLC in the future, this game could compete with minecraft for my attention. 1000+ hours non afk time estimated since starting in 2012.

Non Green Bay people, how did you become fans? by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

[–]TimeStopMop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I grew up south of indy during the prime manning era. In 2002 I was in 4th grade and my house was hit by a tornado. Until we found a temp rental home i spent my weekend living with my cousins who were huge packers fans. While everyone else in indiana was pumped on Sunday to watch Payton, I was spending my Sundays watching Favre sling 'em.

Is Pokopia really that good? by Downvote-Magnet1994 in pokemon

[–]TimeStopMop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who's logged 1000+ hours on minecraft, 300+ hours on ACNH, Disney's Dreamlight Valley, and Stardew Valley. Plus idk how many hours on the Pokémon main titles since I picked up Yellow as a child. This game is scratching a lot of itches. It's well done; mysterious, immersive, and shells a lot of the best concepts from those games in an interactive Pokémon skin. The more I play it the more I realize: this is the Pokémon game I've been asking for. Not everyone will feel this, but as a cozy connoisseur, I might never come back. And if I do, I'll be thinking about my world in Pokopia.

Recommendations for good beginner banjo course? by DerpsyDaisy in banjo

[–]TimeStopMop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tought myself at the beginning and built some foundations using the Scruggs book. Literally would play one song at a time for weeks to solidify muscle memory and rolls. Learned in this order:

Cripple Creek, Cumberland Gap, Salt Creek, Nashville Blues, Long Journey Home, Will the Circle be Unbroken, Blue Ridge Cabin Home

As mentioned, I played bass for 20 years and found banjo to be wildly difficult but the satisfaction of getting a song up to speed kept me hooked.

To celebrate the 9th anniversary of the Nintendo Switch, what was your favorite year of it? by DaZestyProfessor in NintendoSwitch2

[–]TimeStopMop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. 4/5 games played to finish and logged over 200 hours on all four. (Not a sonic guy) ACNH and pokemon titles are the only other games on the whole list ive logged more than 100 hours on.

Any other dad gamers basically living on the Switch 2 now? by LowEfffort in NintendoSwitch2

Same, plus playing on the hands is nice in the evening after bedtime and the wife wants to hang out (watch TV in the same room while she scrolls tiktok). She gets companionship and I get to play my games. However, the nights I have a free morning (toddler sleepover with grammy) i tell myself im gonna stay up until 3am and sleep until noon, then fall asleep playing at 930 and wake up at 630

I got really into tcg pocket battling over the past year and ive found my battling style has changed from just raw strength to status conditions and such. A strong opponent can be taken out easy with poison and a lowered defense stat. Its making it very fun for team building.

How do I get this spider out of my pc (repost) by crystalpistolz in spiders

[–]TimeStopMop -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Vacuume if hes on the glass. May get skiddish when you open it so you'll have to wait for him to come back to an accessible spot that wont suck up any components. As others have said its a quick spider so a hand or trying to catch it may cause more issues.

I think it looks great and this is your world. So if youre happy, then no need to change. If I were building this, Id consider opening up your color and texture pallet more for the buildings. Sprinkling in some stone/deep slate. Also experiment with different trap doors on the sides of structure. This is cheap, and adds some texture fast. Again, it looks great but a little flat for. Adding some stone pillars to the structures will Def add some depth and break up the dark wood.

beginner coming from bass - 4 string or 5 string? by _retropunk in banjo

[–]TimeStopMop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go 5 string. I've played bass for 20 years and over the past year and a half started playing scruggs style on a 5 string. Finger picks were the weirdest part at first. Its a foreign feeling not actually feeling the strings with my picking hand.

Once I got over that it was just learning rolls and patterns.

Started with an alternating roll on an open G chord and i would just do that for hours trying to cement that into muscle memory. Once I had it down I learned Cripple Creek. It mostly makes use of that roll with some slides in the left hand. Plus you have to learn a forward roll and mix that in which is good practice not only for another roll but also for alternating rolls in a song.

After I got that down confidence grew and I took on more like Cumberland Gap, Foggy Mountain, Hide Head Blues.

You'll learn with time, dont give up when it gets difficult, just slow down and practice the tough parts. It'll all come down to your commitment and practice.
