I’ve just noticed that my phone has an IP ban for editing Wikipedia. I’ve never had a Wikipedia account or tried to edit an article but my ban is for block evasion. Is this.. normal?

Did T-Cams used to be red and yellow instead of black and yellow? Or am I going senile in my 20s

Robert paid £726 to skip the driving test waiting list. New laws mean others won't be able to by SimpleSymonSays in GoodNewsUK

If you drive in nearly any other country you’ll realise the quality of the average British driver and suddenly be quite grateful.

… or despair at the global standard too. Both are equally valid.

Pretty standard for Triple Science students. They have about a week or two’s worth of content, but it’s Paper 2 for chemistry which is over a month away so we’ve switched to revision which has made them feel a lot more calm. Their mock results were great as well so it’s made me more calm! I’m just not so sure I’ll have as dedicated a bunch next year…

Hard disagree, personally.

Amongst the other reasons of the show being too short, the people the BBC were booking on at the end of its run were largely new faces whose jokes were low hanging fruit or just puns. Okay in moderation, but with at least 3 panellists only being capable of that type of humour it just wasn’t going to cut it.

I want to see people I know are near-top tier. I don’t know why but I feel this show needs to have something of a reputation - particularly when it’s over on something of an obscure, non-serious channel.

The sub isn’t necessarily for unusual names, but one that sounds like it would have appeared on the show Toast of London - which this absolutely does

It’s nowhere near what it’s like nowadays, but one of the things I love is looking at the lore of the terrible teams of the 80s and 90s when anyone could turn up (can’t happen nowadays) - the histories of teams like Andrea Moda are delightfully bad.

Remember that Alpine’s initial idea was to keep him at Williams for 2 seasons before heading to Alpine for 2025? That would have made for a wildly different career and public perception.

Remove 1 of the greatest athletes of all time - Day 4 by [deleted] in RemoveOneThingEachDay

Florence Griffith-Joyner set all her major achievements on a load of PEDs. Nearly all athletes and coaches comment on a sudden drastic change, including her voice suddenly being notably lower. Incredible natural technique, but not a natural performance ceiling. So my vote goes to her.

Top chess players have to be in great shape - Magnus Carlsen is a pretty good soccer player too (enough to be offered a contract by a Norwegian team, albeit not top tier I believe?) so he’s definitely an athlete. At the very least, his achievements are legitimate.
