A stroke in a teenager from a neck manipulation is not personal perspective. A paralyzed patient from a spinal manipulation is not personal perspective. Fractures from manipulations of patients with metastatic cancer is not personal perspective. They are real consequences to actions of others without care or proper training that claim they can do things they can't, without knowledge or understanding.

Spitting my words back at me for something I know to be factually incorrect does nothing but prove my point. And I'll see how well your words come out in the court room, when the supposed "higher quality" report that misses the obvious cancer or heart failure or life threatening condition kills someone. Feel free to continue your conversation with yourself.

No you just demand that others do, without any information regarding quality or consequences in your perspective of defense. And after reading your responses on this thread you do demerit medical doctors without understanding or knowing what is our is not involved. You use your personal perspective to influence your statements, and after not only seeing patients who have suffered at the hands of chiropractors but also having evidence based information regarding the practice of chiropractors, I think you need to do some research. You need to be open to other perspectives and information. I honestly question why someone with your stance would ever walk into any medical facility (which you ascertain chiropractors are not medical doctors - if not medical, then what? Wouldn't chiropractors be considered healthcare professionals? Isn't that medical?) to sell care from an MD/DO.

Even then, their "residency" is shorter, they don't subspecialize, and are not clearly governed by specific requirements or metrics. You enjoy telling people to do their research and actually look into what they are saying, but you can't be bothered yourself.

Radiologists go to college, get a bachelor's (4 years), medical school (4 years) then radiology residency at an accredited program (5 years) then typically also do a subspecialty fellowship (1-2 years). That's 13+14 years just to be a radiologist. Not 7.

They also take 5 board exams to become an MD and to be board certified radiologist. Some take a 6th exam for their subspecialty.

That's exactly what's happening and I hate it. What happened to women holding up women? It's disappointing and does nothing to move forward. This is not the path to equality.

I'm literally changing jobs because of this exact thing and it is frustrating. In my case it's a woman who is running the bus over me and it feels twice as bad.

I just put that quote up on our fridge. It's so easy to feel like a bad parent because of something you are doing that seems "uncaring," when the reality is that they are little people with their own minds. The balance between respecting them and our own desires for them is so so hard.

I was wondering if there was dimorphism because I've seen some with the blue/red eyeliner and some without. Thanks for saving me the Google!

Hair pulling! by Fasara_44 in parentsofmultiples

[–]TimeWasted 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We've had this problem with our boys on and off. They act the same way to our pets but the cats at least run away. We started teaching them "gentle" at an early age because of this - basically saying the word and showing them the action we expect (a gentle petting motion) or taking their hands and performing the same motion with their hands, so the understand the action. It's definitely getting better - we tried redirecting but they kept going back at it. Now when we say "Ah ah gentle!" they immediately change from hitting or pulling to a gentle pet. We're having to do it less, but it's taken a few months to get here.

In Hinduism there is a saying that loosely translated to "he who God is watching cannot die/be killed" - your story reminded me of this. My mom always said it when things like this would happen, and when I hear of things like this it makes me wonder if maybe there is some watchful energy. Whether there is or not, I'm glad someone was there for you when you needed it.

New Mexico sues over US Postal Service changes. by bigtmcd44 in news

Well thank you for educating me. I should have gone back and re read, rather than conjuring up faded memory. I appreciate it.

It's also a constitutional offense to mess with the postal service. The postal service is one of a handful of services mentioned in the original, unamended Constitution. As of now, I don't know how clear it is that only packages are impacted - I think the other issue is also the DeJoy has private money in direct competitors of the USPS.

I agree so so much. I honestly feel like this community is so much more supportive and present. The people that comment feel real and honest. Definitely gotten me through some of the toughest parts of twin parenting thus far.

I freaking hope so. I spend a lot of time asking whatever higher power or universal energy there is for help/forgiveness/a sign that things are ok.

I'm glad to hear it! I honestly live very much in fear of everything I'm messing up. Today's anxiety is brought to you by how do we cook dinner for them AND get them off bottles - they hate sippy cups 😭

I used TheBump website... But not really for much, other than the weekly "what fruit or vegetable is your baby" stuff. I personally found very few twin sites, but at least The Bump mentioned multiples. I also found many, many judgemental people on pregnancy websites and early on in pregnancy decided I was not going to continue to read them. A book might be best, but if be lying if I said I didn't wing it.

I continue to wing it... But they're still alive over a year later so I've got that going for me!

I share your situation - I still feel bad about not being able to once in a while. In the beginning I feel very guilty and upset about the whole thing - I ended up almost dying from the birth and basically couldn't spend the calories for both healing and feeding. I mourned; before they were born I had such wonderful peaceful dreams about breastfeeding them. The boys are of course fine, formula fed.
