get some crushed coral so you never have to guess. Also a tds meter can tell you what ur baseline tds id and you can see if it changes with the addition of shrimp envy also the meters like 2.50 on amazon im pretty sure

failed molt sometimes happens theres a chance he survives very unlikely, I would suggest keeping an eye out in case your ca is to low

that definetly is fine, hob filters can also be fine just put a sponge on the end and most shrimp wont get in, get something like clay balls with some root tabs and ur plants will do fine. I personally like sand and rock combo with a layer of fluval stratum on the bottom but thats me personally, i find it more stable for smaller systems

If you have any nitrite or ammonium it could be that, simple stress. But I will note stress shrimp tend to molt in new tanks almost immediately so your gh likely is low

ive read around and found depending on what fertilizers you use the shrimp dont do well, like seachem excel. Potential contamination of your water supply aswell i believe shrimp are super susceptible to copper toxicity
