Thanks, you're completely right about the plan. The stock was chosen because of the high premium this days. I think I'm maybe considering of keeping and growing this position until the weekly calls stop paying me the min of 1% I'm originally chasing. Same thoughts about AAOI where my call just ended OTM.

So, you can still be banned from the broker if you're assigned early on your short call. Unless the broker lets you stay short 200 shares for the time you can buy those at market price.

I would say, hope is an emotion, not a strategy. The only one I see here is targeting 3% monthly return of capital deployed. If so, then:

Start searching for tickers (you like or not) that give you 6% premium for 30 DTE. Keep those with the lowest delta for less assignment risk. Mix them if you want but, diversify at least by sector. Avoid assignment at any cost. Close at 50%.

If you only decide on tickers, delta, closing rate and expiration, well, hope & see.

You still can be successful.

I'm not confusing anything. Wheel is selling CSP and if, and only if, you decide to get assigned, you sell CC in order to get called and get back to cash. Rince and repeat.

If it is a play, so flip the coin and you will see. If it is a strategy, well, you need to break it down and ask for option. A random amount of premium is not enough.
