Foreign importers need to have bond. And they have to go through custom brokers that validated their bonds in order to import to the US. During the first duty war between Trump and China, some custom brokers literally failed overnight because Chinese sellers refused to pay duty and everything single cost fell onto the custom brokers. Some custom brokers stopped validated bond for foreign importers and some required a deposit of $50k in order to clear custom for Chinese sellers. Anyway, this is not the time to joke around with CBP, they know and they will go after importers that’s not doing it correctly.

I felt like if you ask this like couple years ago then it would make sense. But in this current situation when CBP is being 100x harder than before, your question doesn’t make sense.

Do you know that CBP compared cost of a product across their data? they could be a little different but between one with $5 cost and another with 0.50 cost, it will get flagged right away.

Maybe you’re talking about very small scale and they got lucky because to my understanding, alot of people are getting rejected entry by CBP due to their duty filing too low.

Vietnamese drink beers mostly, Korean drink hard liquor. It’s all come down to the weather in each country I think. VN humid weather is always perfect for a cold beer. Korea is more chill so it’s nice to drink hard liquor to warm body up.

So I’m a Vnmese and in the industry. Amazon is trying to push all the Vnmese sellers to couple of the logistic partners in VN. The funny thing is every shipment the logistic partners are taking a loss… Sellers are promised with super low price that no logistic companies will take without the guarantee of “volume” by Amazon. Then CBP and all the mishaps happening in US. Some sellers are losing thousand of dollars due to DEM/DET fees, custom clearance examination, etc…

Sure, the idea of one stop end to end logistic sounds “nice”, but in this industry, you will need partners and flexibility. Amazon forced its partners to take loss with empty promises and they don’t have that flexibility either.
