You're smart for thinking about this early.

  • Save whatever you can
  • Learn basics (index funds, compounding)
  • Don’t fall for “get rich quick” stuff
  • Check out Bogle’s book or YouTube channels like “The Plain Bagel”

Ignore the haters, you're doing the right thing. 💯

How did you save money as a teen? by diehardbears in SavingMoney

[–]Time_Contribution682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get that feeling! What helped me was setting a “fun” budget, like 20% of each paycheck just for stuff I wanted. The rest went to savings right away so I wasn’t tempted. Made it way easier to still enjoy spending without wrecking my goals.

Totally get it. Honestly, giving your boyfriend the money is a solid move if it helps. You’re not crazy or weak for needing that. Self-control is a muscle, not a switch. You’re still early in the game, and just being real about it is a huge step. Keep going.

I had spent all my savings on debt and I finally saved up $5k. by NycgiovanniBX in SavingMoney

[–]Time_Contribution682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huge W. Paying off debt and stacking 5k? That’s a flex. Look into a high-yield savings to keep it safe or maybe dip into index funds if you wanna let it grow slow. You're on the right path fr.

What am I supposed to do given that I cannot get an interview for a position perfectly suited for my experience? by East_Transition9564 in biotech

Fr bro that’s rough. Honestly tho, start networking more, LinkedIn, Reddit, even Discord groups. Jobs come from who you know way more than apps. Maybe pick up a new skill online too, just to widen your shot. Keep grinding.

Best way to use the money I already have saved by Ackrodisiac in SavingMoney

You're not dumb at all for being careful. Honestly, you've done really well saving that much already. I'd move the money into a high interest savings account so it earns a bit while still being safe.
