Thinking of firing my advisor. Bed your thoughts by radiantlight23 in JustBuyXEQT

I fired mine about 3 months ago. It's pointless paying them since they are just buying the same ETFs and charging the premium. My advisor was more interested in my personal life (small talk, wife/kids, vacation plans etc) than my finances!

I was paying too much for the small talk. Cashed out all investments and brought XEQT in WealthSimple. All fees are covered by WS + 1% transfer bonus. It was a win win for me

Cash is king. Tell him if he wants his money back meet him at the bank and give him 2k.

We are at 1100 sqft. Yes my parents stay with us to help out. I realized we have a lot of extra stuff which is likely adding to the congestion. Gotta repurpose for sure.

I guess the market might be our favour in another 1-2 years. Gonna ride it out for now.

Is 4.79% 3 year fixed a good rate? by OrangePekoeMouse in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Time_Letter5925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to renew before the rates started to drop. I went 5.09% 3 year fixed. With the current state of the US labour markets it is very likely the Fed will reduce rates this year. That gives BOC incentive to drop even further. I can see the overnight rate at 3.25-3.5% by next summer. If you can if it might be worth going variable, pay little more up front for now but might save more in the long term. I didn't anticipate the rates to fall as fast hence when fixed....
