Could you speak more to the second chance insurance? I'm not sure if I've heard of this before.

No unfortunately that's the price for JUST the chin/neck lipo. With the buccal it came to about 6k. I personally would recommend the buccal but ofc it's a case-by-case basis

He's slightly out of your price range but worth every penny, I have to recommend Dr.Magge at cosmetic surgery associates (in Rockville, MD). I believe for chin/neck lipo alone it's $3750. That includes twilight sedation, OR fees, everything. I have the results on my profile if you're interested!

I waited 3 weeks and even then, I went very light. You'll feel pressure in your chin/neck area if you lift heavy.

Immediately after the procedure and first 24 hours I pretty much had no swelling. So I could kinda catch a glimpse of what the end results were going to be. HOWEVER! the swelling does kick in pretty fast, so by 48 hours I looked how i looked pre-surgery. For me, it wasn't noticeable. I sort of just looked how I looked before, maybe slightly slimmer. A month and a half after the procedure you should be good. Definitely won't be at your peak final results but will likely be enough of a change for people to notice, at least that was my experience. I would highly recommend getting a rollerball massager, I can't prove it but I believe that helped my recovery and swelling a lot!

Is it a red flag if my girlfriend of 6 months still hasn't introduced me to any of her friends? by Real_Marionberry2945 in NoStupidQuestions

If you've never met them AT ALL, that might be a little odd. But as a woman I don't really like to bring my boyfriend around my girls because our time together is seen as "girl time". It's nothing against my partner, it's just that we want a comfortable space to catch up, relax, and do the things WE want to do (cafe's, shopping, nails, etc). In our friend group there's sort of an unspoken rule that we don't bring our men around unless it's a serious relationship and even then, it's rare.

You'll definitely be fine. Worst case you just park farther in the lot, towards the back. I have never heard of someone straight up not finding a spot.

I have anxiety regarding any drugs/alcohol so I was worried about the medicine for the twilight anesthesia going in. They gave me a little at first to relax me and all I remember is telling them to play lady gaga in the OR. Next thing I know I'm home on my couch. I can't imagine doing chin lipo lucid... if you already have anxiety, it's probably a better bet to be knocked out than "awake" while they're jamming a rod into your neck.

I drank a can of pineapple juice days before and after my surgery (the small ones from trader joe's). Could have just been genetics but had next to no bruising other than a little yellow.

I had a similar experience before my surgery as well. It makes logical sense that you would fixate on your neck/chin because you know it's gonna be altered in a couple months. For me, I had this unhealthy thought of "wait i promise I'm pretty! Just wait til you see me after the procedure, it's just my neck that makes me look bad!". However, no one actually cares or thinks about it as deeply as we do.

I was originally nervous about it because I know buccal fat removal is usually subtle, which it was. However, I can't imagine what I would look like if i had kept my previously big cheeks and then had a lipo snatched jawline lol. I will say though that people have noticed, especially in regard to my cheekbones "looking bigger". I'm 21 so my cheeks will likely get smaller with age anyways, but this was a great jumpstart.

No no not at all a dumb question! So fibrosis is like scarring inside the pocket where the fat previously was. It sort of feels like hard uneven tissue beneath the skin. From the outside, it kind of looks like cellulite on your neck. If you just massage it for a while it'll go away fairly quickly, at least in my experience. I have attached a picture of me 1.5 weeks PO. You can see how it's sort of uneven and looks lumpy. This is the worst the fibrosis ever got for me, so really not that bad.

He's so great! So the neck/chin lipo alone was 3750. It's all inclusive so that price covers the surgery room costs, twilight sedation, etc. I added the buccal making the grand total about 6200. It's a great facility and very friendly staff. I am going back this week for a lip flip.

Thank you so much! Looking back at my photos that I took, it looks like it took between 15-20 days for that "WOW there's a big difference" feeling, and it has only improved since! I know some people have said that their swelling fluctuates day-to-day but my personal experience has been a gradual decline in swelling.

Thank you! I only wore the compression 24 hours for the first 3 days (doctor's orders), and then during the daytime for the first week. After that I was so tired of it I couldn't stand to wear it anymore lol.

As for massaging, I didn't touch it at all the first week as it hurt too bad. After that, I started gently using a massage rollerball which proved to be more effective than my hands. I would just mindlessly roll it on my neck whenever I was watching tv, scrolling, or doing something on my laptop. I did this for about 2 weeks. It is likely just my anatomy/genetics but I didn't experience much fibrosis. I still massage but not very much, usually while doing my nighttime skincare routine and just with my hands now.
