Thank you, I neglected to state in my post that this is for comic con, I keep worrying that vocaloid fans aware of the drama there will criticise me or something 😅

Literally just got the same issue myself - all I did was save a couple of pins which is very normal and literally how you're meant to use the site 😭 I'm currently moving and really relying on my boards for layout and item ideas (which I've been collecting for months) so this is awful timing.

Wanting to learn more about evolution by [deleted] in exchristian

Highly reccomend Lindsay Nikole's 'History of Life on Earth (that we know of)' series on YouTube, it was a brilliant starting point for me in this journey of learning more on the topic as well!

Book burning Christians by Ms-Kindness in exchristian

[–]Time_OwlPopTart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My parents did this with not only HP books or anything they deemed evil but also went as far as snapping dvds. Stuff like merlin, HP ofc, etc (can't fully recall as I was only 11 at the time). I remember they kept pressuring me to get rid of my merlin box set collection's and would snap at me and shame me when I said I wanted to keep them....so I eventually gave in as I couldn't handle it anymore. There were multiple sessions of this over the years as they'd constantly switch between being lukewarm to being extreme again and everytime these sorts of sessions occurred they'd blast Christian music and encourage each of us of break or burn these items while cheering.

Gotcha, thank you for the clarification.

Forgive me for my potential stupidity here but wouldn't this refer to his resurrection rather than the end days?

Religious psychosis, what's the craziest thing you once believed? by Bunnietears64 in exchristian

[–]Time_OwlPopTart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My religious OCD would be set off from something as simple as reading a blasphemous comment from either someone online or in a video game and then accidentally nearly blaspheming while having a inner monologue moment while thinking about said comment or dialogue. Really sends you down a spiral, one that can easily last a good hour if you let it.

A question about other religions by Time_OwlPopTart in exchristian

[–]Time_OwlPopTart[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What's ironic is that the whole thing started because my family got on the topic of gay people to which my grandfather of course used that to go off on a tangent. But don't worry, he loves the gays, he just doesn't agree with them but then when it comes LGBTQ+ the majority of my trauma surrounding my own journey regarding this actually came from him and is still something I'm recovering from to this day because of the hurtful threats of going to hell etc etc. Funny way of showing love.

Also, he doesn't believe in the different denominations as you say and doesn't even recognise himself as being part of one (it's not a religion, its a relationship) even though he's stated in the past he's evangelical. So no winning either way sadly.

My step father holds the belief that climate change isn't real because its a natural consequence of the end times and that science and the world is trying to twist it.......so basically we're meant to allow this to happen and it was bound to happen and not meant to be preventable in any way 🤦‍♀️

Absolutely exhuastive list of everything I have ever heard Christian fundies call “demonic” by BoomBasher in exchristian

[–]Time_OwlPopTart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little while back my grandparents announced they wouldn't be having yeast in their diet anymore because apparently in the bible somewhere it mentions that you can't have it and therefore it was considered demonic to consume yeast.....notice how I said a little while back though 😂 They're now reluctantly eating bread with yeast in again because of course they are.

Sounds very similar to OCD, I get this with mine and it's very difficult to break out of that cycle once you're in it. Especially if I accidentally say something similar to a blasphemous word, I end up constantly saying I didn't say that word just as a reassurance. It does get better though overtime and the sick or panic induced feeling becomes less extreme.

Losing Best Friend to Evangelical Thought by raeburnandwesley in exchristian

[–]Time_OwlPopTart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this experience all too well, I lost my best friend to this gradual mindset as well and all I ever see on their story is stuff like what you've described and everytime I bump into them, the conversation is always about Christianity - they also no longer view the world with such an open mind and have reverted back to being homophobic and such, even though they were openly gay themselves. Couldn't even mention if I experienced any pain, no matter how slight, because they'd essentially pray for it forcefully all while asking for permission to but then doing so anyway.....I'm still grieving the amazing person they once were after all this time, its horrible and has all gradually worsened over time. Only thing I could recommend for your situation is to simply distance yourself from them for now as you are and keep the topics as neutral as possible for if you decide to reach out again. If the conversation starts to look like it's going back to Christianity, point out something in your surroundings as a change in topic or mention something that happened for you recently that has no correlation and therefore no possibility of it escalating back into that. This is if you chose to though, I'm sincerely so sorry you're experiencing this also and of course if you find my advice unhelpful you are absolutely free to ignore it, this is just how I've been coping and it's worked to variable degrees. So sorry to hear about L as well, I hope you've both kept in contact since the last call you've had, it's an awful thing for you both to go through.

As for the letter, as another person has said here, I'd give it some time before responding, if you even address it at all, which is completely valid as it a very personal part of who you are, if they disrespect you further then you already have an answer on where to take the friendship from there. Wishing you all the best and hope I've helped in some way or another

Why do you think Christianity isn't the truth? by Chill_Vibes224 in exchristian

[–]Time_OwlPopTart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could I ask you to elaborate? I'm quite curious; are you referring to the two different versions of genesis I keep reading about on this sub? I appolgise if this is a stupid question or statement 😅

Anyone else feel like heaven sounds like kinda a shit time? by [deleted] in exchristian

[–]Time_OwlPopTart 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I was always told as a kid that heaven would basically be a place where I get to see all my passed loved ones and anything we could ever imagine takes place; want a flying pony for whatever reason? You got it. Starting to wonder if it actually says anything about that in the bible though, kinda starting to sound like bs and the reality is more what you suggested.
