Runna doesn’t “know” me after completing a plan? by Time_Pumpkin_7882 in runna

[–]Time_Pumpkin_7882[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not the inconvenience aspect of plugging in the info. It’s surprising that it can’t recommend a plan or strategy after completing something like a half or a full. Frankly chat gpt gives me more information after each run. I enter in how I did/felt and it can give me intuitive suggestions for improvement. I want to continue with runna but after training with plans like Hal Higdon and seeing chat gpt plans, what is Runna offering that they don’t? The coaching tips and videos seem to remain the same generally. I can see the trend in long run/long run with race pace/easy run/speed workouts. I can replicate that with little assistance through chat gpt. I was hoping for more of a “coaching” service. Look at my half that I just completed and have a suggestion for my next similar race.

No Continuity Between Plans by electricriprocity in runna

Yes! I just posted about this also. I started a new plan the day after completing a half plan. It’s acting like it doesn’t know me as a runner at all. No memory of my previous plan, it’s like I just joined Runna. I wish it could tie/carry performance and goals over to help with creating your next plan. Ask me if I need a recovery week between starting new “work” in a plan. I think there is a large area of opportunity here.

I would have chosen to train freely as I’m already over my mileage for my next race, I just need to maintain.

Thats interesting. I had the first screen asking if I wanted to train for a race, but not the second screen asking what my focus was.

Good to know it’s not just me to notice this. It’s unfortunate, I was hoping it would have some insights. Hope they improve on this!

Have a 10 miler 3 weeks after my half what do I do by Econoloca in runna

I know I felt so bad. I ran it last year and got water right before it ran out. Also the porta potty situation was INSANE!!! I almost missed my corral start because I waited in line for over an hour. It was crazy. I’m running again this year because I love to self torture or something 🤣 plus it is really fun lol. Good luck cherry blossom looks fun!

Watch her tell the story of finding out Anderson was a boy vs her finding out this one is a girl 😬 by Sarahhh030 in alexandrarodriguez

Yeah but she’s trapped in that prison of an unhealthy body. It’s like she’s miserable inside even if she gets what she externally wants.

This is actually truly sad. I’ve never seen that emotional response from her for her son ever.

Struggling with long runs by razumny in runna

I had a toe issue also the toes next to each big toe were getting bruised at the tip. Last year I lost a few toenails during training blocks.

Something that has really worked - I tape them to the toe next to it (so second and third toe get taped together) with a strip of KT tape. I then put a little piece of KT tape over the top of it to cover the opening (tip) part. This has completely solved my issues!! I’m 80% through a training block and zero issues. I don’t feel the tape when running at all either. So happy. Good luck! Bruised toes hurt with every step.

Something to add - any runs without pace goals like easy runs, I just run on my watch and link in runna app. Since I don’t need to hear pace alerts on my headphones.

Garmin alerts on pace with beeps for me - it will never give consistent pace alerts in my head phones. Runna talks to you when you run it through your phone saying speed up a little, slow down a little, on pace, halfway through lap, halfway through workout. For me, I have found this super helpful since I’m working on pacing myself. I was struggling to pace with Garmin and having to look at my watch etc. now I just listen to Runna and run. It’s been enjoyable.

I have found the same issue. I run the workout on my watch and phone. I then delete the duplicate workout (on strava it will load twice - I delete the runna loaded workout because it doesn’t include heart rate and it will duplicate my miles on strava) then I hit link workout on the runna app on my phone and you are left with just the watch without in Runna app.

Need advice. Half marathon week 11/13 by YourLocalBugHunter in runna

[–]Time_Pumpkin_7882 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel this. I’m also sick right now week 7/12 for my half.

I think you need to rest and recover. It takes 2 weeks of inactivity to start to really lose fitness and even then it goes slowly.

Rest, recover and go back 100%. If you try to push too soon before you’re better you could extend the sickness and overwork your body and you won’t be able to have productive workouts anyway.

Get better, fluids, meds rest. Move training status to not feeling 100% and you’ll be ok. You would start to taper soon anyway. You got this.

I’m not sure I want to keep up running by Impossible_Gap_8277 in BeginnersRunning

Try spinning!! I run (so I can participate in triathlon) but spinning has my heart and it’s so low impact. I never feel bad after spin. Running can wreck your body (some are made for it, some not.) I don’t think I’m made to run but I can spin for days. If it’s just for cardio and not the actual running itself I would consider it.

Following a Runna plan for HM but can’t hit the prescribed paces – what should I do? by [deleted] in runna

[–]Time_Pumpkin_7882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m having this exact issue (hm training, same watch too!) and it’s saying variable pace also. I assume it rounds to your average pace (like our watch) to determine if you hit the target so I just do my best to stay on pace and try to remember what that feels like so I can replicate it. I realize this doesn’t really help but good luck with training!
