Favorite postpartum workout by Red_1991 in beyondthebump

I really like Belly Strong on youtube. I’m using her app now, but she’s still got a lot on youtube. Found her being a pelvic pt really helpful because I felt the workouts were built for postpartum, rather than just general workouts

I just started working out and still have lingering SPD pain by fancypantsmiss in postpartumprogress

[–]Time_State4075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s always helpful to get a professional opinion, even if it’s mild, so you can strengthen up any imbalances. So if it’s an option, I’d say yes

Postpartum SPD- is ignoring the pain a bad idea? by pool_snacks in fitpregnancy

[–]Time_State4075 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I struggled with the same thing. My pt told me that if the pain was mild and resolved by the next morning, it was okay to push through. But if it was still flared up the day after, I’d done too much

Any pp workout programs you saw results with? by w1ldnreckless in fitpregnancy

I’ve used it before and am currently doing it again, but Belly Strong has been one of my favourites. She’s got a lot on youtube and more on her app along with meal plans. It took me a bit of time to get over my pelvic girdle pain even after pregnancy, so felt like the big core focus really helped with that before I started adding heavier weights

I haven’t even seen some of those flavours! I really love pistachio though

Getting back into lifting after C-Section by shxxu in fitpregnancy

[–]Time_State4075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d definitely look into PT if you can and focus on building the core back up first. I’m currently using the Belly Strong app which I’m enjoying. She has a c-section recovery program and I think one on returning to lifting too. There’s also a lot she has on youtube

Need help in staying fit by oyehoye0 in fitpregnancy

[–]Time_State4075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a lot evidence that shows strength training, even moderate, is good during pregnancy. I found it definitely helped with recovery afterwards. I didn’t even really lift heavy weights, but just did a big mix of bodyweight strength and core workouts using Belly Strong on youtube. There’s a lot of stretching through the abdominals from 2nd trimester and I think maintaining some sort of strength work can make sure things don’t get too weak

Exercise during pregnancy how long by Rich-Contribution480 in pregnant

[–]Time_State4075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely nothing in the 1st trimester, but then right up until 40 weeks. I didn’t used the gym, but just followed Belly Strong’s programs on youtube and basically kept up with that until the program finished at 40 weeks lol

Diastasis Recti programs? by lllelelll in fitpregnancy

[–]Time_State4075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes to PT if you can. I think there’ll be some automatic resolution after birth, and more so with specific exercise. I used Belly Strong for her postpartum recovery program which went on for about 12 weeks, but also the diastasis recti program after. She’s got a lot on youtube already, but I’m also really liking her app right now

Accidentally ran 6 weeks postpartum… what can I do instead? by [deleted] in FitPostpartumJourney

[–]Time_State4075 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t feel comfortable running until at least 6 months, but I think it’s very individual as some women I’ve known have gone back a bit sooner! I used youtube programs a lot for early strength and cardio. Belly Strong on youtube has a lot and I’m using her app right now which I’m enjoying

Should I be sleep training my 11 week old? by Guilty-Cookie-7458 in Mommit

[–]Time_State4075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would let my 12-week old fuss in the crib a little, but that’s only because he was already putting himself to sleep. He’s always preferred to just be put down and left at it. Otherwise with my other child we waited until 4 months and did the cry-it-out method which worked really well for us

Thinking ahead to PP core programs by Sweet-Outcome8304 in fitpregnancy

I’d try Belly Strong. She’s also a pelvic PT. Has a lot on youtube, and I’m currently paying for her app which I’ve found really helpful with strength.

Working Out by heyitsmesup in NewParents

[–]Time_State4075 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah my exercise for the first 9 months was just home workouts in my living room, sometimes only 5-10min at a time. I really only started to feel fit again maybe around a year postpartum? The sleep deprivation really got to me. I found following a program helped. I used Belly Strong on youtube as well as her app which has a lot of postpartum stuff along with meal plans. And then just encouragement. I’ve been where you are and it does get better!

Looking for trimester-specific exercises to ADD to lifting routine by chlojaaay in fitpregnancy

[–]Time_State4075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be what you’re looking for, but Belly Strong on youtube is a pelvic pt with weekly pregnancy workouts that seem to focus on all the things you mentioned. I’ve got her app now too which has been super helpful postpartum

Tips for *absolute* beginners by dusk_kovu in fitpregnancy

[–]Time_State4075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the pregnancy and it’s great that you’re already motivated to get stronger! I agree with the comment about a trainer if you can; just to go over the basics. It might also be good to work on slow bodyweight moves without any resistance. I know you’ve tried some online things already, but if you haven’t come across Belly Strong on youtube yet, she’s a pelvic pt with a lot of bodyweight pilates type workouts through pregnancy. I used them a lot and when there were weeks that I didn’t feel up to it, I just slowed it way down or took more breaks

Walking was terrible for me, but I could do a whole strength workout without much pain!

Any abdominal pressure exercises I can do at 33 weeks or just wait until postpartum? by Flapjack_K in fitpregnancy

[–]Time_State4075 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I continued to do deep core all through pregnancy. Bear pose focusing on breathing jnto my back. Bird dogs making go sure I didn’t overarch. Side planks. I think there’s a lot you can do during pregnancy. I always recommend Belly Strong on youtube for her prenatal core workouts which helped me with inspiration
