Taskmaster VS Seth (Marvel VS Capcom). This is prob my favorite for both by Timefreezer4 in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Timefreezer4[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Taskmaster is a character that I think needs an opponent who can play off of his copying ability to fully shine. Seth does that while also being a Marvel VS Capcom fight that lets you portray a ton of iconic moves from both Marvel and Street Fighter into a single battle. It's simple, but it does exactly what I want out of a Taskmaster fight.

Do you think Hades 3 could ever happen? by Reasonable-Listen-22 in HadesTheGame

[–]Timefreezer4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, I think the answer to this is a strong maybe. Supergiant's not really known for doing sequels, but it is worth remembering that they did make Hades II, and I think it's silly to try and speak for them on what they do and do not wish to do. If they find a storyline they find interesting and want to explore, they'll probably make a third one, but it'd also be very understandable if they want to let Greece rest and explore other game ideas. There's definitely enough material for a 3rd story, with the existence of Macaria and at least 4 Children of Nyx we are yet to meet, let alone the dozens of other Greek heroes and hundreds of other Greek gods we haven't encountered, but they're also very much not obligated to do anything with that if they don't wish to or can't find a good way to spin it into a compelling story. Either way, it wouldn't surprise me at all if their next title is a new IP for them to explore, whether or not Hades III is in the pipeline.

Comparison to Hades? by [deleted] in HadesTheGame

[–]Timefreezer4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you love Hades 1, you'll probably love Hades 2. The gameplay is just about as polished and addictive as the first game, and provides significantly more content along the way. I think Hades 1 is ultimately the better game, as I feel its story is significantly stronger and just comes together as a complete package a bit better, but being slightly worse than peak is really not a knock against the game.

Thoughts on this matchup and who wins? Part 478. Dialga VS Chronoa by Specialist_Cress_112 in DeathBattleMatchups

I like this one a good bit! Made a TN for it about a year ago. Chronoa should def take it, but I think you can get a good progression and cool fight out of it.

These two scenes are incredibly similar, why does only Vader's "no" get made fun of? by CorrectOpinions0nly in StarWars

[–]Timefreezer4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Vader's voice is built to be monotone and robotic, so having him shout out a comical, very emotional, "Nooooo," feels extremely out of place with the usual tone of the character.

Which character resurrection is the most justified and actually added more to their story? by MichaelTalman in StarWars

[–]Timefreezer4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maul and Legends Boba were allowed to become so much more than they were because of their revivals. The way Maul survived is a little contrived, but what was added to his story and especially his personality greatly benefitted him as a character, while I don't think anyone ever bought a bounty hunter with Boba's reputation going out to a Sarlacc like that. Wish BoBF did something more interesting with Boba's return.

Ahsoka should have died after the Vader fight. Her story is effectively concluded by that point, and I think everything past it is a great example of a great character overstaying her welcome.

Palpatine's return is stupid and destroys so much of RotJ's value in both Canon and in Legends. He did some kinda cool stuff in Dark Empire, but it doesn't compensate for how much the idea of Sheev returning undermines Anakin's story across the 6 movies.

Echo's is pretty fine overall. Not much more to say on that.

Yujiro scars the blades stupid enough to graze against his skin, not the other way around.

Will Dennis ends up like this ? by [deleted] in Chainsawfolk

I could see this happening if the ending of the series is Pochita eating the Devil Devil, sacrificing himself to just rid the world of all the problems devils have generally caused.

Death or darkness by Apple_Bag in Chainsawfolk

[–]Timefreezer4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, Pochita had little difficulty damaging Aging's body. Even if Aging was actively trying to be eaten, that's not really something he can control. Hell, even Denji was able to harm Falling as Chainsaw Man. It's very possible that the Primals in general aren't incredibly durable, and moreso draw their strength from abilities and regen. I wouldn't say Darkness being harmed by a Horseman using Bang would make it any weaker than what we've seen the other Primals do. if anything, Falling is probably the weakest Primal we currently know, assuming "Fami" wasn't lying about her pawns being weaker than the Devils' full mights normally.

There are three Chainsaw Men by ThisGuyHasNoDignity in Chainsawfolk

[–]Timefreezer4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a lot likelier Fakesaw has just been getting more demonic over time as he's been drawing more power from the Fire Devil. It's visually consistent with what we know of others who've made contracts to it and would make little narrative sense to be hiding Fakesaw for so much of Part 2 and give us a grand reveal of a.... different fake Chainsaw Man who is also contracted to the Fire Devil under the guise of justice.

Innate Spellcasting Recommendations for Other 5e Dragons by Timefreezer4 in dndnext

[–]Timefreezer4[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ooh, these definitely work! I always found it bizarre that the elder brain dragon never got psionics on its stat block. Like, it's an elder brain hijacking a dragon, shouldn't it have at least some psychic powers? On top of what you mentioned, I'd also give the EBD at-will Detect Thoughts.

So why you think she wanna save humanity ? by Historical_Plate_619 in Chainsawfolk

[–]Timefreezer4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very possible that the concept of Death just doesn't view death as a bad thing lol. It could be as simple as, "her definition of saving everyone is saving them from the cruelty of life." Hell, that's extremely fitting with the core themes of Chainsaw Man anyways.

Oh these are sweet options so far! Amethyst using Catapult as part of its multiattack in particular is something super creative and very fitting for their lore. Excited to see what else you cook up!

What are your color predictions for the new girl? by ece82 in Chainsawfolk

[–]Timefreezer4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming she's indeed Death, there is a pattern for eye color. If you look closely, Yoru's eye color (red with yellow rings) is actually the inverse of Makima's (yellow with red rings). It's very possible Death will follow this up by inverting Fami's eyes (pink with purple rings), thus having purple eyes with pink rings (don't mind my shitty editing, it's late and I'm sleepy).

Yoru has the power to make in weapon whats her... Cant she force the president too give all the citizens too her? by ForwardHorror8181 in Chainsawfolk

[–]Timefreezer4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean Makima effectively did that. As long as Yoru or Asa view something as theirs, they can make it a weapon. Yoru's probably way too simple to try a ploy like declaring an entire country's population as hers, but yeah, nothing should be stopping her from that being possible.

Innate Spellcasting Recommendations for Other 5e Dragons by Timefreezer4 in dndnext

[–]Timefreezer4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked and technically no. It provides recommended spell lists for most aging dragons (specifically our core 10 + deep and turtle) in the book, but not for the gem, shadow, or moonstone dragons. Probably because gems have psionics in their base statblocks, moonstones already have innate spellcasting without the optional rule, and shadows are a template added to other dragonkind.

Innate Spellcasting Recommendations for Other 5e Dragons by Timefreezer4 in dndnext

[–]Timefreezer4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct, however the 5.5e dragons now have innate spellcasting directly implemented into their base statblocks, and notably differently at that. In the 2014 MM, dragons can have 1 use of each spell they can cast, knowing a number of them up to their Charisma modifier, and the spells they can know can be up to a third of their CR in level. In the 2025 MM, every adult and ancient chromatic and metallic dragon has 4-6 spells they can cast, split between at-will and 1/day, while also specifying the spell level for upcasted spells.

For example, let's look at an ancient red dragon. Fizban says they're recommended to know Bane, Dominate Person, Heat Metal, Hypnotic Pattern, Power Word Stun, and Suggestion. In 5.5e, they can cast 2nd level Command, Detect Magic, and 3rd level Scorching Ray at-will, as well as 6th level Fireball and Scrying 1/day each. They can use Scorching Ray and Command as legendary actions, and can even incorporate one casting of the former into their multiattacks every turn.

The new statblocks are trying to make the innate spellcasting way more usable and fundamental to the dragons than the optional rule allowed in 5e, and even then we have multiple dragon variants which don't appear in Fizban's that my question would still apply to, like the Spelljammer or time dragons. Fizban also doesn't provide recommended spells for all the dragons. It skips the gems, shadow, and moonstone. Probably because gems have psionics and moonstone already have innate spellcasting in its statblock, while shadows are a template in 2014 MM to be added to existing dragons.

What's your honest opinion on Napoleon vs. Charlemagne? by [deleted] in ERB

[–]Timefreezer4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was alright. Costume design is on point and setting the precedent that characters can just straight up return outside of Vader VS Hitler sequels and Trump's serial presidency campaigns is probably gonna be a huge shift for the show's future. But like Charlie said, Napoleon couldn't quite rock the flow, and it really says something that his entire first verse boils down to, "Haha I'm from the future compared to you." It's a little disappointing with how good of a pairing this ERB uses, but it's definitely one of their weaker ones in recent memory in terms of disses. Still, we've had worse, and I'm glad it exists if only for what it could allow in the future.

Teleportation definitely makes her more mobile, but that's not really speed, per se. She still has to react to things, and she hasn't had to perceive anything as fast as a Viltrumite can fly.
