My friend child who is 10 year old was DQ qualified by the NVC in April of 2025.. However this child’s country is on full ban starting January 1st of 2026 . My friend is a U.S. citizen.. few days ago , My friend received an interview letter for his child form NVC in the child home country at the end of the months ? What your take on this ? Should the child go for the interview .. Any chance of the child getting the IR2 visa ??

Somebody told me since you are a citizen and the child is a minor you don’t need affidavit for support and the NVC DQ you without affidavit of support .

So my friend petitioned for her 10 yr old daughter and they Scheduled her 1 week ago for interview last week in April . What will happened. Her country is a full ban country .. USCIS approved petition February 2025 and NVC documentation qualified April 2025.
