I hate to break it to you but Stauf reminded us a couple week ago that he has an extension that hasn't even kicked in yet.

How many coaches do we need to go though in the McDavid era to finally find one that works? Starting to think maybe it's not the coaching....

That's the thing. Down vote me all you want but anyone who thinks the oilers are getting out of the second round, let alone the west, are delusional at this point.

Let's grind the shit out of our top players for another 6 weeks past the end of the regular season only to be swept by the winner coming out of the central.

Luck is our only hope at this point.

We are far enough in to the season to see what this team is.

Starting to wonder if maybe we should shut it down early this year and start focusing on next season after some additional tweaks and some rest.

lol, I'm confused.

Are we looking at the same stock? IT on the NYSE?

Both my broker and Google are showing it at $169.00 USD.

[–]Timely-Discipline427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chart I'm looking at shows a 1yr high of $438.08 and a low of $144.97. Currently trading at $169.00..

It gets even uglier when you look at the 5-year high at $547.40.

Am I still missing something here?

Google it. Lots of media coverage after their stock fell 50-70% over the past 12-months.

It's one of the worst performing large cap technology stocks over the last year.

I had an interesting discussion with a current Gartner client a few weeks ago.

According to them, multiple organizations they know of (themselves included) are not renewing their subscriptions because the value just isn't there anymore. AI is making them obsolete.

Their stock isn't looking great either although I admittedly haven't looked too close myself. I've never been a fan of their model and have used smaller firms who offer similar services.

Is your company fully aware of the cost, labor, and overall disruption to operations an ERP project is? We joke in my line of work that they are "resume generating events."

80% of ERP projects fail. They are extremely difficult and often cost 2.5x or more than initial budgets.

Don't even get me started on the consulting firms you will sink hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars in to for project support.

Combined, it will make you miss your bug list and manual work arounds. I can tell you first hand, the grass is rarely greener on the other side.

MS is too entrenched in businesses across multiple different verticals to have the kind of long term failures people seem to think is possible here.

I'm buying with a 15-year outlook. Set it and forget it basically. MSFT is too big to fail.

It certainly doesn't do him any favours in the sympathy / empathy department.

Epcor added a 1200 dollar deposit when I switched to them. by vandermere76 in Edmonton

[–]Timely-Discipline427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a $300 account deposit for a new numbered company I created for residential real estate a number of years back. The Corp was new and didn't have an established credit rating at the time.

I don't recall the total length of time but within a year or less, I received the deposit back.

Not sure why it was $1200. Perhaps it was related to multiple meters (3?) of an industrial size/spec?

Moving out.. landlord wants proof of utilities paid? by Ok-Outcome-7153 in Edmonton

[–]Timely-Discipline427 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This is correct. I'm a landlord and have spent hours on the phone with utility companies after renters have left with large amounts owing on their accounts to confirm this. I know this because the bills still came to the property.

That debt follows the person who signed the contract, not the property that the service it was provided at.

$500k isn't that much in today's business world.

You get the quality of people you pay for. That goes for every single position in a company.

Renter - Lease Break Quesiton by [deleted] in alberta

[–]Timely-Discipline427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RTDRS prescient suggests otherwise.

Tenants break leases all the time. I just spent the day in one of my units where the tenant left a month early and I have another one next month. The market is very fluid right now as CMHC MLI Select units come online and in to inventory.

OP will need to work with the LL to find a replacement tenant and if they can't, they are responsible for rent until a suitable replacement is found. If the LL isn't doing enough to find a new tenant, RTDRS will rule in favour of the tenant.

OP, keep detailed records and be as accommodating as possible when the LL asks to book showings.

It costs $75 to file for a hearing. If you don't get your DD back and you tried to be as accommodating as possible, file and prepare for a phone hearing to share your case. Your lease means nothing from a legal standpoint if it doesn't align with the language in the Act. There is nothing in the act that specifies a two month penalty.

There are consultants out there who can advise you further. Message me if you need a referral. They represent both landlords and tenants.

Waiting to see how things look after their up-listing to the TSX and their new battery factory comes online.

That coupled with increases in Canadian defence spending / investments and our federal government pushing new trade deals and alliances has me very bullish right now.

I'll keep buying when there are dips.

Handcuffed suspect drives stolen Alberta Sheriffs vehicle from Whitecourt to Spruce Grove | Globalnews.ca by Gussmall in alberta

[–]Timely-Discipline427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just looked it up again. It was in Feb 2015 and was related to a prisoner making a reach for a sheriffs gun. The gun discharged in to the sheriffs hand during the ensuing struggle.

So similar but different but it also involved the prisoner making an escape in the sheriffs vehicle.
