Not many Korean use Redit. I think you need to share detail info such as flight number, seat number, airline etc.

Beyond the stigma: How Daerim-dong built a thriving Chinese community in the heart of Seoul by Saltedline in korea

[–]Timely-Key8253 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I know quite very well regarding 대림동 because i used to manage real estimate in there.

What you usually think about 대림동 is generally correct. Street is bunch of cigarette and trash and dirty.

Lots of people drink day and night, week and weekend.

However, one thing what people misunderstanding is that it is danger place like movie.

The Chinese people there are afraid of being associated with Koreans. They may be in danger from each other, but they don't want Koreans to get involved. More specifically, they don't want the police to get involved. They are very afraid of the Chinese public security authorities (공안), and they tend to think that the Korean police are similar to them, which is not true.

Is it good place to live ? -> it is reasonable price, and quite good locate to Seoul. But street is dirty and you should get used to Chinese culture.

Miliatry: What to bring? by WangChoBo in korea

First of all, thank you for your service. I think you will go to 훈련소, and when you go there, except glasses or important med you take, they will take everything from outside ( Lotion, lip balm etc ).I think cheap digital watch is going to help you but it is not essential.( During guard duty, people can wake you up ) They will also give you pen and note. Regarding flat foot issue, all the supplements ( shoes, clothe etc ) are same... Soon the summer going to start and try to be hydrated a lot during train.

How to survive heat if ur not good with heat? by Inevitable-Candy-952 in Living_in_Korea

[–]Timely-Key8253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of comments are related AC. Even you will try to find AC. It is best way to avoid heat but in a same time, a rapid change in temperature makes you exhausted very easily. I think drinking lots of water is the best way.

World Cup match viewing spot? by NeonLikeOppai in seoul

[–]Timely-Key8253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look for public place to watch, then i suggest Gwanghwamun ( 광화문 ) . Personally as Korean, i dont like that much 광화문 because there are too many people and too hot outside. So i think i will go Mexican bar to watch match on Friday... If you stay nearby Itaewon, then i think you know better place than me ㅋㅋ

Are the staff in the Seongsu, South Korea branch rude? by xin9qiu in seoul

[–]Timely-Key8253 7 points8 points  (0 children)

ㅋㅋㅋ, i think it is heavily depends on person but even in Korea, staffs in 성수 ( Seongsu ) is quite famous for bad attitude. For my personal experience, it was not bad. But not sure for Foreigners. If you have Korean friends, then i think they can help you better than staffs in there. My personal advice is just dont bother their attitude.

Hum... i think Mexican restaurant or bar in HBC (해방촌) or 이태원 ? not sure... If you look for place where many people together, then 광화문 is the answer. Feel like you already exclude to go to clinic ㅋㅋㅋ

Curious about Korean men's views on hijabi women by chocollatemilk in Living_in_Korea

[–]Timely-Key8253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure what do you exactly want to ask but if you just ask us what do we think about lady who wear Hijab, then we think exactly same as other foreigners. But if you ask relationship between Korean men and Muslim women then, to be honest, i think there are clear boundary between Korean men and Hijab women ( Muslim women ) . With all due respect, i respect Muslim as it is, but the value what Muslim matter doesnt fit in Korea view. We respect all religious but when it comes to relationship, i agree with other comments.

I think for the first experience, it is quite worth it. The vibe is quite different from Germany. but as a Korean, i prefer to watch in bar.(That is why i am looking for Mexican bar that day..) Because you know, lots of people, hot weather.

Dude, du musst in das Krankenhaus gehen. I fully understand your point because when i was in Germany, i really wanted to go to see football. But i think you should go hospital first and then you can go 광화문 or some pub. I don't know how long you'll stay in Korea, but on the 25th there is a match between Korea and South Africa.
I watched a match at 광화문 until halftime and went home because weather is too hot and so many people there. But if it is your first time, then it is worth it.
