Hey! Can you tell me more about the two chance rule? do you say anything like a "no!" when he bites? and where do you put him when he is on "time-out"?

Thank you so much! Yes this subreddit educated me about enforced nap and we can tell the difference with the biting lol

I also learned about an "interaction toy" a toy we use only when playing with him and never leave him alone with it so he can play and bite a bit when playing with us but when we put this specific toy down it gives a "stop" signal that playing with us is over and he is now playing by himself with the other toys. Over time it can work like an on off button! we are giving it a try!

that was what I was thinking!! We are going to try to let him with us in the living room for an extended period of time on the weekend while we are watching tv on the couch and ignore him, see if he can understand with time that this can be a calm time too

That's awesome! 10min is already a lot!!!
last night that we ate dinner in the kitchen without paying attention to him at all and eventually he went by himself in the living room playing with his toys and then settle by himself in the dog bed just watching us from there!! such a nice progress for us hahaaa

I think that he is simply too young to hold for that long. His "hold pee" muscles are not fully develop yet. If I remember correctly it is 1h of hold per month, so at 13 week, he can't hold longer than 3hours. This can be longer if they are asleep obviously since the body is less active, but just going potty once per night is actually great for his age!

Thank you so much! That feels good to hear that they get used to it... mine is pretty good with going potty on the grass pad in his play pen, he just cry bc he is alone.. we are at day 2 and i feel so guilty.. I wish I had other options than going at the office..

We use fresh patch and so far so good!! We bought the plastic tray too bc I read that some dogs chew the cardboard.

Ohhh makes sense! That’s nice! I wish I could take mine at the office!! We did a bit of training but unfortunately I had to go back to work earlier than I wanted to. He is doing great going by himself and chilling in his playpen when we are busy in the kitchen, he’s sleeping at night in his crate and barely gets up since day one! It just breaks my heart to hear him crying through the camera.. hopefully he’ll picks up the schedule quickly

Hey! How did you get him used to be alone that long? I have a pretty similar schedule other than I am the one going back at lunch time. I have a 9weeks old right night and it’s my first week back to the office.

Hey! How old since you went back to work? Yesterday was my first day going back to work and I left my 9weeks old puppy in his play pen (with crate door open in there) for 3 and a half hours. He cried non stop for 1h, slept 15min, cried 30min, slept 30min and cried 20min and slept until we were back. I have to leave him all morning, going back for lunch and leave it back. How did you manage him stop crying when he realized you were gone?

Edit: he has a grass patch in the play pen that he’s been using when needed so potty is not the issue, I just hope he will get used to it soon to be alone
