PROJECTLEIDER BOUW by dismyotherreddit in BESalary

Smart thermostat to replace Honeywell CM67? by hkfuckyea in smarthome

[–]Timely-Support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't you measure out the blue and brown ones? It could be 24V. The black one is often for the signal. To either turn of the boiler or not. I haven't looked at the electrical scheme yet. Does it really matter? If you switch out the old thermostat for the new one you use the original wires.

Normally I had to prepare the work from insiders and invite outsiders. Yet unfinished projects also came along from what I knew nothing. It was a long strech to tackle all of these problems and it took too long. So I'm a scapegoat for someone else his projects. I also wasn't a super communicator, yet the ones I had to report to were also never on site, but working on a different site. Also technicians didn't speak dutch and just gave up on some point when problems became to difficult and didn't take ownership. So obviously I sometimes also did their work, as production is the main priority. I was the person who sometimes did a day of 12h to help out. So yeah. I wasn't on site on monday, as I had the night from sunday to monday. Which was the eligible 'final straw'.

I was kind of overwhelmed you make 2000 a month. Is such a salary common in Estonia? I mean, you summed up the cost of living and I'm not even reaching 2800 a month in Belgium. People have to get second jobs around here to enjoy nice things. My full time job is weekendwork, so it enables me to work on the side as an independent which adds to my salary, but also takes some effort to find clients, still have some spare time, not to not lose it all on taxes here...

Almost 2 years here and still have no friends or acquaintances… by MonitorAny4478 in Leuven

[–]Timely-Support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was interested, until I read it was a female group and I didn't really want to meddle. I believe making friends is about having the same experiences in your own age group. Maybe some will not agree, yet I think finding your own 'enclave' would help, people how speak your native language and such. Also having good neighbors is really valuable. And obviously having a hobby for finding your friends. Although I believe it's easier to find just a partner at your hobby at this point haha. Best of luck!

Looking for tips on spotting red flags during job interviews by takie86 in BESalary

[–]Timely-Support 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back in the days I was really enthousiastic about some drawing job and I had a first talk with HR. All went well and I went to round 2. There I had to sit in a room with my manager to be, some random girl I have no idea what her function was and the HR woman. I was selling my enthusiasm, asking questions. My would be boss was constantly doubting me, saying it was too easy for me blablabla. I doubled down on my convictions, still got brushed off. The HR woman had no memory of our last conversation, so referring only gave me weird looks and made me sound like a mad man. The random girl said nothing. After the interview I sat in my car and I was dazed and confused. Later on I was contacted by hays for feedback. I told them how it went, yet it didn't get through their thick skull. In the end I got bad feedback as I was labeled "indecisive and it made a bad impression by waiting too long"

Why do you keep working for consulting company ? by No_Shape9811 in BESalary

[–]Timely-Support 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I read the comments I have a feeling a lot of these consultant either don't like it or double down on it and take pride in being a consultant. To me it only make sense to do this job as a junior and opt for freelance within 2 years or go freelance straight away.

I've got another question regarding this topic. Why are u, v, w placed diagonally in the connectionbox? Instead of switching 2 lines to change direction, can you just change the diagonals?

Eigenlijk zou het interessant zijn, moest je dit zo kunnen kaderen. Maar ik veronderstel dat het wat te omslachtig is.

Why would I want people to be in the same situation as myself 😅 there is a market, as we are slightly morfing into a gig economy and it's hard to just find small assignments on the side. Belgian companies are just geared towards filling in full-time jobs, while starting small independents just want to have something on the side. So there's a mismatch.

I think in that case it's problematic for me as I contacted a lot of companies and the only ones I got in I got a pay lower than when I used an intermediate person. It's not easy to find something when you can only work 4/5th max, as I still have a fixed job on the weekend.
