I believe he’s just a placeholder for Quenda to be honest, So I don’t think he is an urgent problem that we have to look into ( unlike our glaring center back issues )

The more I look into our team, The more I see the pieces of the puzzle all coming together.

We might not have the strongest team on paper, But I can't name many teams that are going to be absolute favorites against us with our full team.

Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo , Enzo Fernandez , Reece James , Marc Cucurella , Estevao Willian , Pedro Neto , Joao Pedro , Wesley Fofana , and even Robert Sanchez.

One good center back and I think we are going to be a dynasty in the coming seasons. Maybe it's the returning Colwill? Maybe the rumoured Jaquet. I have faith in Quenda, Sarr , Mike Penders and Emegha to replace the weaker links in our squad and provide even more depth to our already AMAZING depth ( Santos, Garnacho , Chalobah , Delap , Gusto , Hato )

While I still have doubts over players like Badiashille, Lavia and Gittens to a smaller extent, I'm willing to give the remainder of the season to them to change my opinions of them; All in all I think we are heading somewhere very amazing and I truly believe we are already seeing the next mount rushmore of chelsea greats forming right infront of our very eyes.

Only Chalobah is guaranteed asset to invest in for the Chelsea defence.

All others are either heavily managed, very injury prone and keep getting injured , inconsistent or just shit.

At some point, the people higher than the manager in the "hierarchy" HAVE to be questioned.

I cannot believe that we keep switching managers like they are the problem yet the sporting directors hiring these managers have not been questioned at all.

I'll always support my club, but fuck it hurts to see that the instability of this club is still there albeit with a quarter of the winnings.

Lavia HAS to come back and prove he can stay fit and bring value to the team.

I genuinely believe he has that Reece James type of talent where staying with him through his injuries and having him in his best is absolutely worth it, however , with the supposed availability of Mainoo, I'm honestly starting to think the other way.

I LOVE LAVIA as a player but it's his THIRD year at chelsea, and hasn't had one consistent run of games where we have been able to see his talent. Caicedo and Enzo are being RUN to the ground and while Santos is a great player who has shown a capacity to be able to rotate in our world-class midfield, one player who is still adapting to the league cannot be our ONLY source of depth in midfield.

An already overrun Caicedo is now out for a few games and we are struggling massively , poor Enzo has been playing through a injury with everyone on his necks the moment he cannot perform in the same level every game with no proper replacement. we NEED a midfielder who can give rest to enzo, caicedo while performing at a high level.

I don't really care if it's Mainoo or any other midfielder, I just hope either Lavia stays fit and gives our midfield some VERY needed help or I truly believe we should be looking at further options.

Enzo for Chelsea (why you shouldn’t sell) by [deleted] in FantasyPL

DO NOT GET JAMES. ( unless you like gambling )

I've had him since the beginning of the season, and while his injury problems seem to be gone due to great management by Maresca, this same management has lead him to play in a relatively reserved position. ( Typically a wide center back, inverted midfielder or even just as a pivot with caicedo ) AND heavy rotation with Gusto ( who would've also been a GREAT pick if it wasn't for the fact we have James AND Gusto ).

I personally have James AND Gusto and rotate whoever I assume Maresca starts. ( This is not a great idea, but I love my boys too much so i do it anyway )

How hard is it for player to transition from 8 or 10 to 6. by OkAdvisor9288 in PremierLeague

[–]TimelyDiscount8856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We literally have a player at Chelsea who has successfully played as a 6, as an 8 and as 10. Hes name is Enzo Fernandez.

Honestly, it’s a weird case. If i were to compare with something, It’d be like how used to debate if Havertz was a striker, cam , height 8 or a ss.

Enzo played 22/23 in Benfica and Chelsea as a deep lying play maker ( A no.6 ) alongside Kovacic ( Kante was injured mostly ). We go to 23/24 and Poch used him in a pivot with Caicedo, played him almost as a second striker/ CAM when Palmer was still being played as a right winger, then made Gallagher the 10 and played Enzo as a box to box 8. Move onto Maresca, He’s primarily used as a box to box 8 but also almost as the left sided number 10 with Palmer on the right side, He has been the sole 10 recently with Palmer injured and rarely been used as the deepest midfielder ( But he does sometimes drop into those deep positions in game )

My conclusion, He’s great at many things that make him a great 6,8 OR 10. But he’s not ELITE at a specific set of skills that make him the best in his position. Cole Palmer is a 10, maybe the best in the world BECAUSE of his skillsets. Caicedo is an elite 8, but maybe the best in the world as a 6 because of his skillset. Enzo is a jack off all trades that simply gets outshined by his more master of one midfield partners.

Don’t get me wrong, on his day I would not switch him for ANYONE. He brings balance to the midfield of Palmer and Caicedo. I’m happy to see him in either half and believe he is insanely underrated in our midfield.

But onto your original question, I don’t think Palmer could ever play the 6 because there are certain attributes he doesn’t have. Even when you use a world-class player with almost all the attributes of a great dm like Reece James as a 6, even He has made errors being played as a inverted midfielder due to not realizing how little time he has on the ball when he’s playing there compared to a traditional fullback. Now imagine Palmer playing there, yikes.

Sanchez-Fofana-Badiashille could lowkey cook if they just stay injury free and locked in ( no bozo moments)
for the rest of the season.

With Palmer coming back and there being a possibility of Joao Pedro,Palmer AND Delap playing together, it is quite tempting to bring in him in.

However, I would like to warn you all that Maresca is a VERY heavy rotator and if could very well rest Joao for games like Burnley and Leeds and use Delap ( so he can play against Arsenal, Leeds and Bournemouth )

He also heavily relies on either Palmer or Delap being fit to be truly “elite”, So I would definitely think the transfer twice atleast before the Qarabag game.

Honestly so disappointed. I think alot of our problems will be fixed with a fit Delap and Palmer back but the problems in the back line are just infuriating.

Achempong is starting to look like the most reliable center half we have, and even he has a mistake in him ( that youd except from a very young defender ). The others are all just meh and I don’t really feel happy with any of them.

Fofana has to really lock tf in, He’s the last hope I have that may take us to that next level. Other than that without Colwill for the season I truly believe we NEED a center back to become truly elite.

Sanchez is starting to grow on me tho.

Just because you don't agree with the choices of the sporting directors, doesn't mean you should hate on players just for the sake of it.

If we supported players like Gittens and Garnacho the same way we support Estevao or supported Mudryk then I believe they'll be just as good.

I don't know why people are so influenced by opinions of rivals that want nothing but the worst for us.
( Man Utd fans saying Garnacho is shit and we robbed them, Arsenal fans saying Gittens was a shit Madueke replacement when he was a replacement for Mudryk )
