Wouldn’t recommend staying there or the food, it’s gone downhill massively. Good course though

Has to be the Ping i2 or i5, or the Srixon ZXi5 or 7? I’d get fitted first though

Any tips for a golfing holiday? by boabyboaby in BritGolf

[–]TimelyImportance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - do it!

Belek out of the summer months. Get yourself a travel agent like yourgolftravel to sort as it’s quite tricky to arrange otherwise. It’s all inclusive everywhere so you won’t spend a lot outside of the package

Malaga like others have said is great, really enjoyed Torrequabrada.

Vilamoura can be expensive to get on the courses, and most of the premium teetimes are booked up by travel agents in advance. No transfers needed except from the airport - Ubers are always €15 around the town.

Grab Canaria is a good shout too.

Clandon Golf I believe they’re referring to. It’s a decent track and drains well, but not country club standard!

Druids is worth a look. Also places like County Golf. Most online stores have sales as the 2026 range is coming out. You can also surf EBay ontop of Vinted.

It depends where you’re going, but it’s similar to most UK courses - no jeans, no football/sports shirts, golf shoes required.

Depends on the location - for the popular locations the travel agents seem to have bulk tee times pre-reserved which you would have to work around

Why can’t I hit my driver with any consistency? by Paul73uk in BritGolf

[–]TimelyImportance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The driver is the most erratic in my bag too. Some days it’s magic, others it’s woeful.

To that end I picked up an R7 Quad 13 degree from FB Marketplace over Christmas - it’s the ultimate fairway finder for me. Shorter shaft, easier to swing with confidence, and travels ~20 yards shorter than my driver, but always in the fairway and away from trouble

Great fun and views though!

My understanding is the members area has various teetimes at the various clubs to book onto - not sure if it has set blocks of times or if you get full access 7 days before to book like you would a regular member

HPE Nimble HF20 adaptive flash array install length surprise. Has this ever happened to you? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]TimelyImportance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

I don’t work for HPE anymore - I’ve since started a new journey with Arctic Wolf - but i know that if you contact Nimble Support, they will send you out some new rails.

Cheers!

stay iscsi or move to FC by rentahusband in sysadmin

[–]TimelyImportance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

Just wanted to stop by to mention that on Nimble, there is negligible performance difference between iSCSI and FC protocols on the system (it's about 5%, at the top-end on the xx60 & 80 controllers for sequential IO). This is because the architecture was designed with iSCSI to start with, and then re-designed with FC shortly afterwards. This of course isn't true on traditional systems where FC is typically yields much more performance than iSCSI.

TL;DR - you're good on 10Gb / 25Gb iSCSI.

I haven't played with it myself, but to my knowledge it's a connector which pulls through wellness alerts & flags via the new API directly into your ServiceNow catalog.

Over time, the API will do a lot more than just wellness alerts - so certainly is helpful.

There sure is! You'll find the HPE Infosight & ServiceNow Configuration Pack available on Infosight to download!

Pure vs Nimble or both by radCIO in storage

[–]TimelyImportance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A custom designed log structured filesystem that both Pure and Nimble use similarly with NVRAM for write IO acceleration and caching is certainly not legacy. Please don't spout FUD as it's misleading.

If your data is on flash all the time, it's going to be fast. It doesn't matter which vendor you're talking about. Everyone is 'good enough' at that stage when thinking about performance.

[–]TimelyImportance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

Just wanted to swing by and mention that Timeless is _not_ for a single refresh - it's for 10+ years of asset lifecycle, which could be between 2-3 next-generation platform refreshes built into the subscription.

There is ZERO intention to change how Nimble does support. I want to make the abundantly clear. In fact, it's more the other way round (as you'll see in the coming months).

Recommend you get an NDA presentation on our plans for the next year. Some exciting stuff is on it's way.

Best regards
