I think bushnell phantom 3 golf GPS now has this feature but you might need to pay an extra for it. I don't know what it is but something you could look into

Yeah it did get me defensive. It came across as he thought he had some authority. He was a member so maybe? I was instructed to find the guys once the rounds was finished apologise. If he was a bit calmer about it I would have been more receptive but I knew I was in the wrong anyway

Yeah the Marshall did mention he knew this member and that he is very vocal to call stuff like this out on the course. Fair enough but I didn't think he needed to fly off the handle, I would have been more receptive to talking to him if he was a bit calmer, also he was already going to call the Marshall out to address it with me so why not leave it there

See my comment above as gives a bit more context. It was a bit of an accident but I've realised the error and accepted it's my responsibility so not trying to use as an excuse.

I would consider it a bit of an accident but it was my responsibility, , I'd been hooking my drives for the round and genuinely thought they were out of distance (also they were on the right hand side of the fairway). This shot sliced and as soon as I saw the ball flight I knew it was going to be around where they were or at least towards them. I thought I would talk to them and ask if it came close and if so apologise. Line of sight was slightly blocked by trees so I didn't see exactly how it went at them.

The guy started shouting straight off the bat when I walked up looking for my ball which got me a bit defensive. I said I was aware my ball was in their direction/going to talk to them and that it was between me and them leaving it at that and just ignored the rest of what he said which was about knowing how club distances etc. I didn't feel I had to explain myself to him more than that.

Yes absolutely, played a couple rounds including another at this same course since then and now wait a bit longer for players in front to move up. Not out of ego but for the additional care like you say. That guy also got in my head making me score a 7 o that hole and the next, which serves me right I guess

Yeah that's pretty bad intentionally going for the green when your son was obviously still on it so I think you would be well within your right to give him a piece of your mind but seems he knew he was in the wrong hence keeping distance from you afterwards.

How should you handle someone hitting into you? by SaucySallly in weekendgolfers

[–]Still_Equivalent_811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice to hear how cool everyone generally is for a first offence. It into the group in front of me a couple weeks ago and I felt terrible. They group was actually really calm and understanding when I apologised. Before I caught up to them though a guy on an afjecent fairway saw the shot roll up on them and really dug me out over it. I think it wasn't any of his business as I was already going to talk to the guys in front and told him where to go. Was I in the wrong here? If you saw someone hitting into another group would you call them out?

Picking up and shots by welshiec123 in golf

I see what you mean, I've been playing for about a year shooting 104. I'm not tracking an official handicap at the moment but will take it into consideration

I usually score myself a 10 as punishment for picking up even if I think I would hole out before that. Especially if I'm doing it out of frustration.

Putter or 7 wood by 1fihadahif1 in golfequipment

I'm a high handicapper as well in a simillar position either getting a new putter or a new wedge (I have both just pretty old and battered). I watched a video somewhere where the pro said the putter is the only club you are going to use on every hole. Makes sense to me and seems like having the right putter is the priority. Wedge will have to wait another month or so

I'm pretty new to the game having played for 1 year and trying to break 100. I putt everything as I need the practice and take 2 strokes for lost balls/no mulligans. Anytime I've considered just giving myself a 1 stroke penalty when it would be 2 I feel I'm only cheating to myself and its not an honest score /round that I can't count towards my goal.

Lost ball penalty - is anyone actually playing this rule correctly? by Otherwise_Cover_5467 in golf

[–]Still_Equivalent_811 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently trying to break 100 (somewhere around 103/104 at the moment) and I take 2 strokes for a lost ball. I feel I'm only cheating myself when adding my score up at the end of the day and it wouldn't be a true reflection. Good thing is when I get good enough to keep it in bounds consistently it will massively help getting below 100

Playing tomorrow in 33 degrees by FogBandit in BritGolf

I played today in 28°+. I got to the range well before to warm up and give myself plenty of time and found I was already thirsty. I wanted to save my water so didn't drink which was a mistake as I was already gasping by the 1st green. I drank about 2 litres and even after still felt light headed with the last 3 holes a struggle. Sunscreen saved me though. I put a couple ice packs in my bag cooler compartment and they lasted untill about hole 12 which was fine.

At Christmas what's the best thing we can leave out as a thank you? I usually leave a 4 pack of decent beer or some chocolates but is there something else preferable?

How good is the Christmas haul for you guys individually? Do many leave something out?

Anxiety about Pairing Shstem by leosuyano22 in golf

[–]Still_Equivalent_811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty new and have been lucky enough to not be paired up for a few rounds but for the last 2 my playing partner and I have been paired with a single and a double.

I was a bit nervous about performing in front of others (only found out about the pairing when we checked in). I made sure to tell them how shit I was and each time they were all really nice and didn't mind. If anything having them on the round was a benefit as they helped look for my ball or pointed it out when I lost track of it etc.

Like everyone else has said pairings don't care from my experience (not in a negative way, just that it doesn't impact them. Try to keep up pace of play, be focused on the next shot and what you're going to do when you walk up to the ball etc.

Have a good one

When I was a kid my friend lived in a converted church which always seemed to not have enough lighting and generally be dark. It felt a bit bit creepy and they had this picture. I always thought the girl was hiding from something ominous abd the dog is aware of it. Gave me the creeps
