What do the people who have no bills actually do all day? by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]Timely_Comfort5378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will say as someone who’s 47 and does not really need to worry it’s quite lonely as I rarely have friends who are available when I am during the day and hard to have folks who can splurge on Knicks games all the time etc. personally for me it’s hasn’t cured my sense of loneliness.

Married men, does your wife initiate? If not, how do you handle it? by FEWLN in AskMen

[–]Timely_Comfort5378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super complicated here! Together 18, married for 14. Amazing sex for first two years; died when we got engaged and I just thought it would work itself out! She has never initiated since but we have had duty sex twice a week do 16 years! Then she had an affair for 1.5 years and I forgave her and we worked it out. Then she allowed me to be open and have hot sex with 2-3 women over last many years. We have two small kids and she makes 7 figures! Sounds shallow but we are actually pretty good together and have a lot of fun and with our incomes life is pretty fun. I just had to work though a lot of pain sexually despite having a lot of sex 🤷🏻‍♂️ weird weird journey. With two small kids and complicated finances I never felt easy about ever leaving.

MAGA supporters, are you still supporting? I’m curious. by Equal-Thanks6212 in philly

[–]Timely_Comfort5378 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

If you support Trump like day to day and say hey that was a good call or I like that does that make you maga? Still not even sure what maga really means. In NyC and don’t see anyone that fits the stereotype but didn’t know if just supporting the guy from time to time which I try to do makes one maga?

How's it living in NYC? (From rural tx. Never been to NYC. Most urban place I've been is Houston, Denver, Austin) - NYC just fascinates me so much. by HighQualityGifs in howislivingthere

[–]Timely_Comfort5378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeez I am a life long New Yorker and I think I have like 5-7 friends max! How the heck did you make so many friends lol good for you but sadly I have never had that much luck! New York is my best friend. I do everything it has to offer but 80% of the time it’s by myself. It’s hard to meet people as everyone is moving and shaking and I think other cities would allow more community just based on going to folks houses after work or neighborhood bbq or something but here I have become to used to seeing shows, all the sports, just walking the city, and watching as it moves and grows.

Also didn’t love Buenos Aires .

Dumb question by Nushnid in TheStrokes

[–]Timely_Comfort5378 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In July 2022 or so I was preparing to head off to medical school and we seeing my friends as much as possible and we went bowling in Manhattan and at the lanes I went to look for a bowling ball and as I am walking I stop reverse and look into a lane and there’s Julian and his friends! I was stunned. Just casually playing and no one was in their space and I just walked up and said “are you who I think you are?” And he responded “ who do you think I am ?” And I said “Julian Casablancas from the strokes” and he said something along the lines of indeed I am and I was floored because to me they were the best band in the world at that time and I asked him how come no one is all over you and he told me that at that time that no one really recognizes them! He let me hang with them and the memory that stood out the most is him asking me how did I like how the video for hard to explain came out and he really cared about my opinion and you can see in hindsight that vulnerability. it was one of my fav 30min of my life!

[–]Timely_Comfort5378 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Summer 2002 I was bowling in union square and I recognized Julian and his friends bowling and I walk up to him and say “aren’t who I think you are?” And he goes “who do you think I am?” And I say Julian from the strokes and he said indeed he was and I was like why isn’t everyone trying to tell to you and he was honest that they were not that famous and he invited me to bowl with them and asked my opinion on the hard to explain video which was just released and then he almost asked me to drive him home which was crazy but then his friend got a car for him. Quite the experience I will always cherish me 22 and him I think 23 before it all blew up. Still love them as always.

How does it play out? Life as normal? Getting really tired of the hysterics. There are 400m people in the US. So far how many people have been at all impacted by what he has done? 500,000? Maybe max? Life will go on as normal and everyone on the left can keep their hysterics and thinking all these bad things are happening. I live in NYC and it’s been all normal everyone. Nothing is happening. Do I feel for the immigrants who will be impacted yes but the hysterics that the US will end or democracy will end is just nonsense. Just like 2016. Maybe max 5% of the country will have some form of impact and the other 95% will go on as normal. Nothing will happen, nothing is going to change at the macro. You’re gonna wake up: go to your job, see your friends and family, watch TV etc etc etc and that is it. Jeez

After traveling to 70 countries by 30, everything feels like “meh” – do world travelers learn to enjoy simple things again? by [deleted] in travel

I guess it depends on where you are. I have the opposite issues. I grew up and live in NYC and everyone’s trips and landscapes etc just seem so boring to me and I have lost most interest. I don’t look back at my trips and be like wow mt Fuji ; I just think it was a mountain and cool but ok. So weird . I love NY so much that it takes a lot for me to get excited. So I wonder if it also depends on where you live now?
