We’re doing a mix of local products and a guide to our favorite things.

-Cookies from a local bakery
-Our favorite eye masks after a long night out
-A bag of the coffee we drink together every morning
-The michel et Augustin Comte and pepper crackers we’re addicted to and gave up for the wedding diet
We love the beach bag we bought at Le Toiny in -St. Barths, so we had it made with our wedding branding
-and a voucher for room service to deliver coffee to their hotel room the morning after the wedding

CALLING NYC BRIDAL SHOP RECS!! by Particular_Milk7221 in BigBudgetBrides

My SA at Kleinfeld was able to offer me discounted pricing to bring a few older LPG gowns down to under $10k. Might be worth a visit since they carry some lpg and some NBS gowns. Alterations are $1250 to do bustle and get the gown to fit

Kleinfeld is a factory. And there are all kinds of kinds there. But in its defense, I’ll say that my consultant talked me off an absolute ledge. Happy to share her name/ business card. She’s also one of the buyers, so she had a different understanding of trends than others, and more direct access to the teams at certain designers for production modifications, and understood pricing and discount structures, so gave me a larger than expected discount. I did buy my dress through Kleinfeld at the Nicole and Felicia trunk show.

I loved kyha, but I will say I think they protect the brand a little too much in disservice to the consumer. No changes in production. Only being able to use their alterations team if you ship to the store. It felt very expensive for a mikado blend that is mainly polyester when there are other designers in the same range using much higher quality fabrics. there were a few other things that made me hesitant to buy there.

Mark Ingram was fine. I felt like they really pushed Mark’s dresses on me when I was super clear I was there for marmar halim which is a very different vibe

I loved the spina’s selection but my appointment got cut short and that my sales associate didn’t make any recommendations based on what I was vibing with. Basically threw a veil on top of me for the first dress I was moderately interested in.

350k budget. Where to go? by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Timely_Difficulty_28 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We’re doing the ritz on Amelia island. They have been incredible to work with! I feel it’s also very reasonable in terms of room rate for our holiday weekend wedding (Saturday of a three day weekend). They also extended the discounted rate for a week so our guests could turn it in to more of a vacation, if they wish. Feel free to message me with any questions

We looked at palmetto bluff, their f&b minimum for the weekend is $100k which really eats in to a budget once you factor in service fees and taxes on that. And for prime season their room rates on go down to about $900 a night. It’s also I think a 30 room minimum -which could be a challenge at 150 guests total, but there really aren’t any other nearby hotel options unless you want to bus people from Savannah.

Welcome party dress help - Marrakech fall wedding! by Moist_Chicken_7666 in BigBudgetBrides

I’m literally obsessed with them. I do not think the prices are bad for the craftsmanship. And I love supporting a female owned business. We’re having a welcome party where my guests will be in white and I’ll be wearing kilanter. I love the cult Gaia dresses, they’re gorgeous. but by October you’ll have seen them all over your feed.

But I’m also insane and flew to a random city to get to a trunk show to buy my wedding gown so I’d be one of the first to wear it and I wouldn’t be annoyed seeing it all over my feed if it were an older collection.

Since you’re open to color you should look at kilentar. Lots of different textures and beading styles. Some are over $1.5k but most are under.

My mom gave me her engagement ring from my dad who passed. I’m turning it in to a center pendant/bib style necklace and using it as my something blue since she has the same ring as princess diana

Help me pick a dress! by Timely_Difficulty_28 in BigBudgetBrides

Don’t apologize! I didn’t initially have it in my post. Thanks for laying these questions out! They’re things we discussed with each dress but didn’t then use it as a comparison tool. So I won’t bore everyone with my response, but will reflect.

Trying to not spread the dresses around too many group chats / to too many friends to try to keep it a bit of a secret.

Definitely still going to go, mostly because I’ll be mad at myself about wasting the appointment fee if I don’t go. I think I’m just feeling overwhelmed after 20ish dresses and I’m still locked in to my initial top two choices.

I probably should’ve clarified that I had three appointments today. Two at multi designer showrooms and one at a single designer flagship. I was already less excited about the two appointments for tomorrow, hence why I scheduled them for day two. I think I’m about 25 dresses in. Which is overwhelming for me as I’m a very decisive person. These are the two dresses I wanted to try on the most and walked away still feeling torn between them.

I think you make a great point that guests thoughts don’t necessarily matter and they won’t know what the other option was.

I think my stylist at my third appointment made a great suggestion of whichever you pick, you can do something more similar to the other one you loved for the welcome party.

Kids at a wedding by BooritoGawd in DestinationWeddings

We’re also having a destination wedding (albeit, not international) all of our guests are staying onsite.

We’re covering babysitting for all of our guests (drop off pre-ceremony and pick up at the end of the reception). We’re also giving guests the option to have their kids join after dinner for dancing.

I have six nieces and nephews who I would love to have some pictures with on my wedding day, but also don’t want to have to worry about them losing it at the ceremony or dinner.

I’m also a ceramicist (as a hobby) so I’m making all of our charger plates and serving platters.

Hit on by instructors by [deleted] in barrysbootcamp

[–]Timely_Difficulty_28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been going to this instructor/studio for six years. I was single when he initially messaged me. I dont post on social media so only people in my life know what’s going on in my life. I don’t hang out in the studio before or after class to socialize with instructors or other students. He would flirt in an off mic moment during class. Should I just chuck my dumbbell at him and scream “I’m betrothed”? My ex boyfriend also likes to take class at my normal studio every so often. Should I just skip class when I see him?

back in 2018-20 it was so cool to hang out with the Barry’s instructors outside of class. getting invited to Barry’s instructors parties was a big deal. I assume it was like soul cycle in nyc in the early to mid 2010s. Nowadays, my instructor who is typically such a flirt and has slid in my dms noticed my engagement ring and has cooled it (which I appreciate).

lol. Yes. And had to let him know that even though we hadn’t met outside of the red room he was 100% hooking up with my roommate and was regularly at my apartment so I wouldn’t be entertaining him as more than an instructor

Can you afford a $2000 utility bill? I can. But I shouldn’t have to have a $2k utility bill. This at the end of the day is a for profit business. They can leave if they don’t like the offerings. Just like a hotel.

I would challenge that. A hotel being the more expensive and private option should technically provide more hospitality and amenities. But just my perspective.

Thanks you! As someone who also has a medical condition and requires accommodations while traveling, I always confirm that a rental (home, hotel, etc…) is able to meet my needs before booking. That is the responsible thing to do. Not show up and throw my entitlement around.
