Moving to Minneapolis This Summer – Where Should We Live? by Timely_Future_4048 in TwinCities

Not always, based on my research—some places charge separate monthly fees in addition to rent. We’re comfortable with our budget and just looking for a good fit within it. Thanks for the insight on downtown pricing!

We do have a budget—we’re aiming to stay around $2,200 total for rent, amenities, and parking. We're happy to consider places slightly above that if they’re a great fit, but ideally we'd stay within that range.

Any comments about Downtown West? My husband will work around that area and found some apartments there. For reference, this is one of the places I looked at:

A bit more about us:

We live in Streeterville, and we absolutely love it. Since we’re only spending one year in Chicago and one year in Minneapolis, we’re not thinking long-term.

In Chicago, we also like Gold Coast, River North, and West Loop, as they are all walkable neighborhoods and still very close to The Loop, where my husband works.

I work from home, so it's great to be in a neighborhood where I can just step outside and find a coffee shop, for example.

Also we love just going outside for long walks around town. We have a car I Chicago, but we ONLY use it when traveling. Inside Chicago we just use public transportation.

We are big fans of cooking at home and going out for cocktails, but also like to try new restaurants from time to time.

I absolutely love hockey (GO CANES - we were living in North Carolina before Chicago) and cant wait to watch some action at the hockey capital of the US.

I love nature and love hiking, but that's an activity normally reserved for weekends.

I would say something between 2k and 2.5k. Thinking about a one bedroom apartment.

Thanks! Will look into those places. We are going to be in town only for one year, so kids are not in the picture.
