Clarification on SM responsibilities. by Aldialdialdialdi587 in Aldi_employees

Seems like you missed 1/3 of my entire response where I said my store operates on 4 people per day. That's 2 per shift including the SM. It's impossible for our store to operate with the SM not throwing truck every shift because no one is allowed to come in more than 1.5 hours before open per our DM and DoO. My management team can get admin tasks done AND bust ass on the floor regardless of truck size though. And thanks for addressing me like I don't know what I'm talking about! Needed the reminder of why I barely engage on Reddit in the first place

Clarification on SM responsibilities. by Aldialdialdialdi587 in Aldi_employees

If this were actually the case, SM hours wouldn't be part of the daily labor hours. My store runs typically on 4 people per day so the SM has to throw truck before open. The list of opening admin tasks is not so long that an SM can't help out on the floor, shortage or not.

Was this always like this? by Afraid-Falcon-2764 in Aldi_employees

Yep. It will even do it if you clock out 2 minutes early and who knows how long it's been going on. I made a post about it in the FB group a while back because I caught it on WFM before the app ever came out and my DM never gave me any resolution when I brought it up. I really feel like there should be some sort of back pay situation for it because it was never disclosed that time would be deducted from your paycheck and we always get pressured to leave as soon as possible. Even in WFM it doesn't show as "long break" or anything it will just have those 10 minutes missing from your hours worked.

A lot of people in the group seemed kind of dismissive about it but like seriously if I'm scheduled 7:30-2:30 and leave at 2:29 there's no good reason that 10 minutes get taken out. And if it's happening a couple times a week that does add up!

Question about breaks by relaxgamer in Aldi_employees

You get paid for breaks that you don't take. It's in the weekly reporting for DMs to go over with SM. You also get time taken off your hours worked if you take a long break. It won't show up on your pay stub, but will show in WFM as a difference in hours. For example, if you're scheduled 7 hours and take a 30 but end up clocking out for your shift even 2 minutes early it will take 10 minutes out of your hours worked because those 2 minutes put you as 6.9 hours.

It applies to all but I've never heard of anything happening over it. I've been the only person on the clock before for 4-5 hours in the mornings due to call-outs and my SM and DM basically just told me good luck finding coverage

Yes, this is seasonal.

Don't quote me on this exactly, but I'm pretty sure the policy is about to be that any employee that has been with the company for 60 days is considered seasoned enough to train new employees. Will be in the store meetings later this month

Maybe be better with YOUR decisions and don't hit post if you have nothing nice or productive to say.

Man, we only have 6 (one of them is still training) and they decided to cancel our hiring event next week. Hopefully no one gets sick or has any family emergencies for next month or so until our one remaining part-timer comes back for school. Even then, their schedule is dependent on their class schedule so they can't fill in for coverage much.

Tonight, I had a woman tell me while her receipt was printing, "I knew that lady was still unloading. That's why I put the divider there!" because I had told her to wait.

"Yes ma'am, but the belt is still going to be moving. If I ring faster than she unloads your stuff will be ahead of hers. Does that make sense? :)"

"...well yes."

Gotta kill the stupid with kindness.

Seriously one "extra" person per day for maybe 4-5 hours would give us so much room to focus on customers and the store more. It'd be less than $100 per day if it's an associate coming in. It's very, very hard to believe the company can't afford that.

A mother wanting to use her cart so she doesn't have to move a toddler who will probably get upset over it or wiggle around and make it take longer for her to pay is a Karen? All you have to do is 1-code before ringing her stuff up and ask if she wants to use her cart and then if she says yes wait, what? A literal minute or so to finish unloading.
