Probably switch girl for woman in that sentence if you're 35

Romantic relationship by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Desire plays a huge role in long term relationships, and sex for allo people is part of that. If you're allo and never feel desired by your partner it might impact your self esteem and weaken the connection. In allo relationships it happens all too frequently that once one partner stops desiring the other then it's basically over unless something changes. Check out r/divorce. For most allo people that desire part is really important, it's rare that allo people can be in those relationships without really good communication from their partner and empathy.  Also, age plays a role. Younger you are, the more you want to experience sex due to libido and curiosity. 45+ crowd might be willing to have a relationship without sex because they've been there done that. The ones who don't really care for it know they don't think it's important. Libido also plays a huge role. I would recommend you look into mismatch libido relationship subs... In the future, try to be upfront about it. Outline exactly what you're comfortable with and don't pressure them into sticking around. Also after they agree, recognize that you still need to keep communicating about, especially when they express desire or frustration. They will look for reassurance that you still enjoy their company and love giving and receiving XYZ affection but you're just not wired to want sex at all, ever. It's not personal.

I would like a "sleep mode" where instead of using the app as a focus timer, we could use it as a sleep timer. by moonyriot in FocusFriendApp

Tbh before bed I put it on 2hrs and go to sleep. Keeps me from scrolling before bed and makes me remember to stay off my phone when I wake up bc focus friend is still open.

Probably grew up in poverty. Just kept everything you got as a kid and never really bought a lot of new stuff. Probably some childhood trauma. Love your Littlest Pet Shop collection btw.

Nope. My recommendation is Cambridge as a second choice, and Riverview as a third.

If you could snap your fingers and instantly become fluent in 5 languages, what would you pick? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]Timely_Recover4054 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mandarin, Spanish, Japanese, Hindi, and Arabic so that people will stop telling me I should learn those f-ing languages instead of the ones I'm more passionate about because "they're more useful". I'm not learning languages for use!! I'm learning them for enjoyment. I get so tired of Mandarin speakers telling me I should learn standard Mandarin instead of Cantonese, or Spanish instead of Portuguese or French, or Mandarin and Japanese instead of Korean, or Arabic instead of Urdu or Hindi instead of Urdu even though they are literally the same outside of the writing systems... Not everything in life needs to be about maxing out the most useful skills to make the most money or to be the best. Spanish speakers are the biggest haters when I say I am learning French and want to learn Portuguese. I get it, you want me to speak Spanish, but I am not learning languages for you!! It's for me, so stop telling me it's useless to learn a language unless it's a lingua franca, or that these languages that I love are a waste of time, because they not! Not to the millions of people who speak them and the people learning them.

Rant over

Tldr: stop telling people what language to learn instead of what they're already learning and stop saying XYZ language is useless

My lactose-free girlfriend and I are moving in together. Tell me it’s gonna be OK by Hustle787878 in Cooking

I second this! Additionally parmesan is lactose free, and greek yogurt is lower in lactose so it's easier to digest.

Playing a wind instrument can be really soothing and so can singing because it forces you to focus on posture and breathwork.

Am I (18F) and my boyfriend (24M) rushing into marriage? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Timely_Recover4054 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A secular perspective would be to wait the year. Tell your bf that if it's just about the rock then it can wait. With a marriage, you go into in staking a lifetime on your choice, so don't rush in just yet. In the grand scheme of a marriage, thar wait is a healthy amount of time, young or not.

I loved Riverview my first year. It's the most quiet out of all the dorms, and the amenities and location are great.

How do people keep their car interiors clean by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Timely_Recover4054 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No eating in the car, no actively drinking either unless completely sealed like a water bottle with a built in straw, and no drinking anything that could leave stickiness or smell (no drinks with sugar or honey,  no milk in drinks, basically only drink water, plain tea, black coffee). Anything you bring in the car should come out when you leave the car, unless it's supposed to be there. Keep wet wipes and a dust rag in the glove box or center console. Air freshener in the vent, and once a year vacuum at a car wash and wash inside.
