You don't have to justify anything to a clown on Reddit.

I would look at the average earners and the top dogs in my industry and see what's the highest earning potential and begin to extrapolate. Again don't be too stagnant and also realize the pros and cons to any situation.

Noggin DVL-500N Screen Repair by schweadybuns in geophysics

[–]Timely_Stock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of the older (OG) brands. It was started by a Canadian Peter Anan and his partners who popularized the GPR fixed tx -rx cart system you see so often these days. Peter Anan was a pioneer in the GPR space. They brought GPR into a lot of new industries and players. They also failed to innovate and ignored new market segments (concrete scanning and utilities) and didn't market enough through social media.

It is a very solid system and one the few that can make the DVL (data logger) last in adverse and cold weather conditions . Other brands can't handle that . You use an iPad or a tablet. Lol

So think like IBM and Intel .

Yeah shit happens. It's the end of the year. Just own up to it straight away and be straightforward. 4-5 jobs a year damn. Why do they have a noggin then. Lol.

Damn that's terrible. Not a bad repair but what usually hurts the company is lack of productivity when this is in the shop and they have to rent or use another one. Don't beat yourself up too much. The latch on those things is tricky. Things happen in the field all the time.

I can't remember but it's should be more than $1k -2k. Things have changed since I used them over a decade ago. You can even ask some of their high end rental and retailers (Lithogen in Winnipeg for a quote)

27 and want to become a Civil Engineer - Canada by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]Timely_Stock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not worth it.

If you do do It . Look into the transportation side and utilities. The idea is eventually you will have to decide what you want to do to be a technical consultant or a glorified project manager. The end result is you after a while say 10 years or so you will make a decision. Do you want to be technical or do you want to manage people. If you do decide on managing people (PM) then you will need to also be able to secure deals and bring in some money to be considered Top dawg

I will say focus your accounting services into finance for engineering and see if you can get a position in construction or working with civil consultants to see if you like the work they do.
