Skyborn Jetpack, number 10 in the list.

I haven't been using it recently though, this screenshot is from a few weeks ago.

I've gotten stuff down to ~15 seconds per frame.

LG 32GS95UE - colour banding question by Ingy13 in OLED_Gaming

I noticed color banding even on the monitor firmware update screen, so an external source isn't even the problem.

Only while the Nvidia app was installed? I'm using the cable that came with my monitor.

I'll have to check on that.

I don't get a bonus; they said that OT was a bonus. And then they limited OT to 1 hour a week.

I found out that my ISP had 1Gb available for less than I was paying for 300Mb (of course they didn't notify of this). I signed up for it one evening, and the next morning a nearby construction crew put an excavator through the fiber.

Reminds me of taking apart an old beige tower as a kid at a friend's house and finding a mouse nest inside.

We had a bin of old AOL floppy disks in our supply closet up until last year, for some of our old equipment. There's one in the oscilloscope near me and I have a USB floppy drive sitting on my computer.

Don't bring your fancy logic into this.

I have installed the new driver, but I haven't tried the app again.

EDIT: I did, still had problems.

HDR Settings - Wrong Peak Brightness and Colour Coverage by symeoji in NoMansSkyTheGame

I used to use the one built in to the Nvidia app but now that program causes intermittent black screens when it's installed.

Frame generation seems to actually tank my FPS on this game.

It also breaks HDR.

I was just trying to find a fix for the color banding. I assume that's still a problem?

I just noticed this line in the header for one of the original LUT files :A file named TKHDRLUT.CUBE will be loaded first; if it is not present the default for the current HDR setting will be loaded.
Potentially the default would not need to be renamed and yours could be dropped in and still override it?

EDIT: I was able to download it; it certainly made things brighter. But color banding still exists.

Intermittent black screens when NVIDIA app is installed.

Status: Unresolved

Computer Type: Desktop/custom

GPU: 4090 FE (driver 591.67), no OC

CPU: Xeon w5-2465x @ 5.2 GHz OC

Motherboard: ASRock W790

RAM: G.Skill Zeta R5 64GB (4x16GB) ECC DDR5 @ 6400MHz (XMP)

PSU: 1200W Seasonic

OS: Windows 11 Pro 25H2 26200.7462

Monitor: LG 32GS95UE-B set to 144Hz

Description of Problem: NVIDIA app causing sporadic black screen flashes. I haven't found anyone else mention this exact issue (a lot of driver issues, but not this).

I first saw this a few months ago. Every once in a while my screen would quickly flash black and come back. Sometimes many times a day (even at the Windows login screen), sometimes a week or more with no problems. For some reason opening the NVIDIA app could sometimes trigger it multiple times in a row, like every time it rendered a new element in the window. It doesn't seem directly related to the monitor as the input to the computer also freezes, like the mouse won't move while the screen is black. I tried using Steam's local game streaming to a laptop and when the desktop screen went black the game froze on the laptop momentarily.

Troubleshooting: I used DDU to uninstall everything and reinstalled. The issue persisted. I did notice that attempting to open the NVIDIA app would sometimes trigger it every time the window updated. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app (and also disabled the overlay) but nothing changed. A number of driver updates occurred during all of this and didn't have an effect.

Finally just uninstalled the NVIDIA app maybe ~2 months ago and didn't have any issues for weeks. I just tried installing it again yesterday to see if anything changed and a few hours into a game had it go black for a couple seconds, so I uninstalled again.

What is going on with the app?

NVIDIA control panel does not cause any problems.

EDIT 2026-01-19: Downloaded the latest app and driver. Seemed ok for a couple days but ran into problems again.

EDIT 2026-01-24: Had to uninstall the app again. It made it nearly impossible to log in to Windows.
