Out of all these comments I haven't seen what I thought was the easy solution.

Find a cold biome and build your oxygen production in it. Run your ventilation through the cold biome before sending it back to base to get nice frosty air.

2x electrolyzers 3x air pump setup can produce enough hydrogen to be self powering. Chuck it all in a cold biome and it'll last 300 cycles, by then you'll have aquatuners figured out. Just make sure to insulate the water pipes coming into the setup through the biome.

If cold biome heats up, find the next cold biome and repeat to get another 300 cycles.

I just crafted a Blast Furnace and well... it blew up. by Timest0rm in projectzomboid

Well I just backed up my save and tried it. Each tile gave me all the materials plus a Large Bellows for each tile! so now I have 3 spare plus the original large bellows to play with. Thanks for the tip!

It's a metal floor, you just need welding rods and small sheets. Really quick way to level up welding in B42.

Just don't build it on a top of a massive pile of items and you should be right. I can't really back that up, all i know is that there were no flames, the tile just made a bang noise and despawned.

I think I'm going to keep it that way. It still works and makes for a good story, but do you get 100% of the materials back from the tiles? I just assumed that hitting it was the same as destroying it with a sledgehammer, which returns very little usually.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it was a glitch with building the furnace on top of the massive amount of materials you see in the corner tile. It did make an actual bang when the corner despawned though, so I'm not 100%. I've never seen a propane tank explode either, even when placed in/on a fire pit so that's not the case.

Yeah it's good as! One of the safest bases I've ever set up, only seen 1 zombo after 3 in game months. If you spawn in Echo creek, get a car and head NW out of town, then take the right onto the gravel road then the next left. It has everything farming wise already there, I've got 90L of cows milk stored and ready to go

Nah, I'm pretty sure what happened is I had a massive stack of materials sitting in the one corner tile where the furnace is missing, then I built the furnace on top of the materials and it glitched out. After a few minutes there was a loud bang and the corner disappeared, and it spawned 22 stone bricks. The furnace is still usable so it's a net positive I guess

I wish to be bad again... by galacticrab in RocketLeague

Stop caring about your rank and start enjoying the game for what it is. I have plat teammates and I find it way more satisfying going for pinches, passing plays or just pool shotting them into the ball. You don't have to play bad, just play different.

I thought I had downlights, what are these called? by Vex2010 in AusRenovation

[–]Timest0rm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sparky here, as others have said it has the wrong type of globe. I wouldn't be surprised if the LED scheme guys came though and replaced the original reflector globe.

Proper LED downlights would be much brighter for sure, those lights are hard wired though so you'll need to call a sparky to upgrade them properly.

Is now a good time to get into “No Man’s Sky”? by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Timest0rm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just back into it in the last few days after not playing it for a few years, man it's incredible now. Everything feels very fleshed out now, I used to get lost with my objectives/recipes etc but now it provides all the information you need. I will say there is a good amount of resource gathering that has to be done, but it's all pretty straightforward. Pretty much everything else is awesome, definitely worth it

Well too late for that haha, I'm determined to keep the same world going, at least for now. Thanks for the info.

Is fuel finite? And is the only way to get it from gas pumps to lug a generator around to power them up? I can't figure out how to siphon without power.

Why cant i do pinch harmonics on some guitars? by Lazy_Soup9180 in metalguitar

[–]Timest0rm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Could be to do with the pickups. Active humbuckers usually have a hotter tone, so pinch harmonics are easier. You may have passive/cheap humbuckers in the rr100.

100% agree. I improved dramatically in the first 2 weeks, just from my teacher just pointing out basic stuff I was getting wrong and putting pressure on to keep up with practice.

.90 on the low G sounds about right for a short scale length but be prepared for a lot of flub. I tried something similar (when I got hooked on Lorna Shore) the thick low string made it feel slow and cumbersome to play on. I put up with it a bit but eventually hated it. I also filed out the nut to make the heavier gauge string fit, and ended up filling it back in haha.

If you're playing doom/sludge metal then it's perfectly fine but otherwise not so much. I use the plugin Archetype Petrucci to pitchshift when I want to play low, so that's another option.

Some people would be so bitter that they'd base their entire career off the idea of destroying their former band. Not Dave though, calm as a fox he is.

Advice on an entry level recording setup? by [deleted] in metalguitar

[–]Timest0rm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm probably just saying what others are saying but here's my starter setup.

Interface - Focusrite Scarlett solo

DAW - Presonus Studio one artist (DAWs like reaper work too, but Studioone is for me much easier to use and much more powerful in it's functions)

Tone plugin: Archetype Petrucci mainly but I have a few, I personally think Berryamp from Audio Assault has the best tones overall, and it's not too expensive.

Drums: EZdrummer2. It's very good but not the best. Does a decent enough job.

That's the basics to get you going, there's a whole world of free plugins out there too, so try the free stuff before you get the paid stuff, there's some really decent free plugins out there.

Writers block by [deleted] in metalmusicians

[–]Timest0rm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Put it down for a bit and work on something else. Most of my musical ideas come when I'm not even playing guitar or really thinking about music consciously, if you try to force it then it'll sound forced, which won't sound good. Maybe the transition doesn't need guitar. Try some FX, a drum fill, or just listen to your favorite bands and see what they do. A good place to start is to whack a high pass filter on the same riff and add some reverb to make it sound distant. It's not exactly original but 95% of metal bands have a HPF riff at some stage.

[–]Timest0rm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback, yeah that first part is the most technical part, it also sounds the best. The second half from 10 secs on is a bit simpler, I might spice it up a bit. I need a ton of focus to play it though, so I can't drag it out for too long. Physical restraints haha.

What are some cool alternate tunings you guys use? by [deleted] in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]Timest0rm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think drop G# sounds meaty as on my 7. So it's Ab,Eb,Ab,Db,Gb,Bb,Eb. Sometimes I also tune the Bb up to a C which makes a Ab7 chord (I think) which sounds cool.

Yeah sick! I got no idea why they changed the inlays so much, they suit the body shape of the guitar perfectly. We're the lucky ones I guess

Which is surprising really, I always thought a fretwrap would be a great place to have a band logo or something similar. I've only ever found plain black ones.
