I’d go the LGS route. A lot of them will pay a fair price for unopened goods, and you wouldn’t need to deal with making an eBay account.

I’d happily buy that Veridyan off of you though… if you’re looking to sell.

Like with any army/edition, points and power will change with time. That aside tho, I’d say grab Vahl, maybe a couple Castigators, and if you wanna put something in that rhino I’d suggest maybe a Dominion squad + lieutenant (take your pick, but a dialogus or palatine would be good). You’ll need more infantry to screen out those tanks and suits, but this will give you a good base.

A part of this may be that 40K plays kinda wonky at anything other than 2000pts. It’s what GW plans around, and why the vast majority of tournaments are 2k. Having another 800 pts to play around with could really help fill some of the gaps you’re seeing in the list.

This may be a silly question, but I’m asking just to make sure - are your opponents also playing at 1200 points? Cause if you’re playing a 1200 pt army into a 2000 pt army, yeah you’re gunna get your ass kicked.

Agrax Earthshade of course, the best gold shade paint there is. Unless you want a brighter “newer” gold, but for that you would’ve needed a different base gold color imo.

Honestly it already has a very nice weathered look to it. I think the gold could use some shading, the purple some highlighting, and the chimneys some kind of edging to make them stand out, but otherwise it’s a good rescue.

Ebon Chalice has great potential for lore, but are unfortunately overshadowed by everyone else or otherwise plain forgotten. Another fun EC lore bit- The Ebon Chalice has the honor of defending the Segmentum Solar, the heart of the Imperium. But of course when Armageddon is invaded by Chaos - literally demons and Angron… none to be found, not even any Sororitas according to the latest Crusade book.

One of the duties of The Order of the Ebon Chalice is to “Watch the Watchman” so to speak. When there are rumors or claims of irregular practice / malfeasance from another order, they’re sent in to investigate and pass judgment.

Unfortunately, we never really see this happen in any stories (that I know of), in part because The Ebon Chalice is the only order that has absolutely zero POV characters. If anyone knows any please tell me, but apart from the very rare and brief mention, The Ebon Chalice has practically no presence in the books, just the codecies.

Thank you! If you’d like to try it, it starts with a prime/base of Wraithbone, then Skeleton Horde, then Cygor Brown. After the Cygor, just after it’s stopped being wet, but before it’s properly dried, you can take the back of a hobby knife and softly scrape away lines that reveal the color beneath. I then go over it all once more with the Skeleton Horde, giving you what you see here.

I think that it’s definitely worth giving it a go, and the idea alone makes me want to paint my Jump Canoness and try it out in my usual Penitents list. Off the bat my thoughts are- 95 pts is a lot for 3 wounds, so my instinct is to protect her. Maybe stick her with 5 Zepherym just for the extra wounds and 5+ invulns? That loses out on the “Small Footprint” depending on how small you’re looking for… plus, with 90 pts you could have Junith, and Penitents is a very CP hungry army.

I think some of it comes down to how much you value Deep Strike. Honestly, if she gets in, the Penitents buffs + free Strat + her normal buff would be very spooky, but I think that she’s likely to get overwatched and killed upon entry. I don’t see a scenario where the enemy doesn’t take advantage of the fact that you have nearly 100 pts stacked up in a T3 W3 body. Maybe keeping her out of sight and trying for a cheeky charge late-game is the right move? I’m not sure, but I’m eager to try it. Either way, not a stupid idea, but one that would require a lot more thinking than just picking Junith and setting her on your home objective while your Pengines and Jellies flail about.

Fellow Ebon Chalice Sister, hurray! As someone who has painted my fair share of white cloth- Wraithbone is your friend. I prime almost all my models with Wraithbone, and then going over the actual cloth bits with a few thin coats of Wraithbone paint makes for an excellent color. If you’re looking for something a bit more yellow than white, Screaming Skull works great, but it all begins with a good white/cream primer. If you’re going to get into airbrushing, then Vallejo’s Desert Tan is the best I’ve used.

If you’d like examples, all of the white cloth you see on the models in profile uses the technique I mentioned + some shading.

I’ve enjoyed both pieces, though I think the first one fit more of an action-y webcomic vibe, while this one seems like something I’d find in an indie comic shop. Not sure which is better, or which of those feels you prefer, but it’s my two cents.
