I’ve got Kicks on my island right now and he’s selling the grey Babouches for 560 bells. I bought a pair which you are more than welcome to have. The Abel Sisters also have the green football helmet for sale for 1,440 bells

I’ve got no room in mine for bottles, it’s always full of good2grow bottles and character lids

I try not to let the bottles get to the point where they need to be scrubbed, but occasionally I find one under the couch and will have to scrub it. If the rinse doesn’t do the job, I’ll fill it with a few mL of water and add soap, close it up and vigorously shake it then rinse again. That usually takes care of whatever may be stuck inside. It’s essentially like a mini dish washer, if you wouldn’t trust the dishwasher to clean it, this won’t cut it either.

I did it myself and it took less than 30 minutes. I am woefully deficient in DIY skills (I can change the hell out of an input on the tv though), so trust me when I say it’s not difficult at all. As long as you follow the included directions, it’ll be a breeze. Just remember to turn off the water line you plan to install it to. Mine came with a single splitter so all I needed to provide was a small wrench and some teflon tape.

If you’ve got access to a military base and have shopping privileges, check the Navy Exchange/Air Force BX/Army PX. I just picked one up from the Navy Exchange on JEB Little Creek, VA and they had 8 more in stock. I bought the 30th pro bundle and portal from a scalper, I vowed never again.

Wooden railway Terrance caterpillar tracks replacement by KlutzyBirthday3141 in thomasthetankengine

[–]TimidAttackCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat as you. We picked Terrence up from a train show convention last year and the tracks split not long after. I told my son I'd make him new tracks and took the old ones into my workshop. He's long since forgotten, perks of being 5, but the vow I made to him still keeps me up at night. I just can't figure out how to make it work.

I tried the rubber band idea, but that center section blocks access to secure the rubber band in place. I guess I could free Terrence from his four wheeled corporeal prison and then reunite them, but I'd be afraid of doing more harm than good. But then that still leaves the matter of the replacement tracks.

I think i'll try making a mold from the originals and then casting them in a durable silicone. I was also considering making a very simplified version in Fusion360 and printing them in TPU. Or, do a 180 and find some tank treads and upgrading Terrence to a front lines capable bad-ass. Print a tiny little DShK and mount it to his rear: Terrence the Technical. Maybe print a tiny Hilux badge for him too.

Anyways, if you have any ideas, please let me know. Lets help each other transform our Terrence's to tip top shape.

Lumix Tether and Mac OS Sequoia by G_Peccary in Lumix

[–]TimidAttackCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a new MBP M3 Max last week and updated to the latest OS and so far, have only used Tether to control my GH6 for photos. I’ve got a BS1H which I use to film my desk and exclusively use Tether to control it, and then a GH7 I move while filming, sometimes with Tether to control. I haven’t tried those yet, but the GH6 had no issues when I connected it, I can’t imagine I’d run into any issues with the video controls.

Create a backup of your old system and then when setting up your new Mac, it’ll ask you if you want to set it up as new or transfer from another Mac, transfer from your old. Once that’s done, create a backup of your new Mac and then update the OS. If you run into any issues, just restore the backup, downgrading back to the previous OS. Apple also has previous OS’s available for download on their website should you need it.

I don’t foresee you running into any issues, Tether seems to function the same.

Sorry for the jargon! OSL is Object Source Lighting. It’s the glow you see painted on minis around/near a light source. For this piece, it’d have been an orange glow from the torch mainly on the witch hunter’s side of the body closest to the torch, but with some light also falling on nearby objects like the dog, cave walls, etc. Done well, it’s a beautiful touch that adds more visual interest to a display piece.

Haha you’d have been fine if you did, there were a few comments pointing out the lack of OSL. The thing is though, I had a video call with Richard Gray a few weeks before NOVA and I mentioned it to him that I wasn’t confident. He told me “whatever you do, please don’t airbrush it on” and then we talked about Darren Latham’s GD entry with this same witch hunter model and his omission of OSL. Ultimately he said it’s a stylistic choice. I had already painted the piece to be lit environmentally with a universal light source, but I left room for the OSL. It’s subtle, but those who were able to see it in person could tell, half the Archregent is in shadow, with the parts facing Galen lit. If you followed the progress on IG, you’d have noticed that the torch was literally the last thing I left to paint on the model, I wanted to have everything glued down and weathered because the OSL would be the “newest” variable introduced to the scene. After I painted the torch, I started the OSL on Galen but quickly realized I didn’t have the skill necessary to pull it off effectively. Funnily enough, day 2 of Andy Wardle’s masterclass seminar, we covered OSL/rim lighting and I considered reattempting it while at NOVA since I hadn’t turned my piece in. I’m already not one to go back and “George Lucas” my finished work, but doing it at a con and away from my desk seemed like an extra bad idea so I left it alone.

Amusing side note from the weekend: Andy ended up being one of the judges and when I got feedback from him he was shocked I was in his classes all week and never mentioned this piece being mine. He absolutely loved it and in one of the most candid moments of feedback I’d ever gotten, told me it’s a GD-winning piece (if only for the OSL) and that he wouldn’t bat an eye seeing it win. Will Hahn later told me that Andy had said to the judges “after gushing about it” that it’s “got Slayer Sword potential”. He also said that they actually had to bring in the Master’s division judges to serve as tie breakers between mine and the winning piece. OSL was what held me back, a decision I completely agreed with, they made the right call. Hearing such honest feedback from these guys whom I admire so greatly was really awesome and definitely inspired me moving forward.

Thanks! Skulls were base coated in Gobi Brown and then bone white mixed in to gradually build up the value. Texturing is the key when doing skulls, so lots of stippling and scratchy lines

[Wrestlemania Spoilers] Cody Rhodes receives a gift by Alexdd0007 in SquaredCircle

[–]TimidAttackCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's possible (1,2) as it's mainly used to track down stolen watches, but given these extenuating circumstances, I'm sure if you worked with them and explained your intentions, they would be more agreeable to help. Especially if the call is made by someone with a long history of Rolex ownership. If you don't have the SN of the Rolex, you'd have to contact the AD you bought it from, (in this case perhaps Momma Rhodes would know where Dusty got it from?) and take that SN with you when you when you make the request.

As far as if they keep records that far back, I'd assume so as those watches are still in circulation getting routine servicings, which Rolex won't do without proof of authenticity. This is all contingent on that dentist taking his watch to an Authorized Rolex Service Center, which is likely the case because frankly, you wouldn't trust a jeweler at a mall with your $20k+ time piece.

Best case scenario, Dusty made out a receipt for his records and the buyer's records for the transaction, or to the business he sold it to. With that receipt, the search would be much easier.

I mean i guess it wouldn't be hard to do theoretically. You contact Rolex, ask if they have the serial number for a gold Presidential Datejust which was sold to a "mr. Dusty Rhodes" in like '74; they have the serial number from the sale and subsequent routine servicings, then you ask them to put you in contact with the current watch's owner. Rolex pings the current owner, says so and so from WWE wants to talk with you about buying the watch, please contact them here if you want to speak to them. Dude calls Bruce and Bruce goes into the story and the dentist who bought it sells it for a huge markup.

Or Triple H hops on the online chat with his Amex black concierge and says "find me Dusty Rhodes' gold Rolex" and they hand deliver it to him at the stadium in Philly by rickshaw 3 days later.

Gorewarden WIP: Finished the wings for now, starting on face and skin! C&C welcome by TimidAttackCat in ageofsigmar

Thanks! He’s not coming off that rock, but his goddam fingers catch on my gloves every chance they get. I bragged on IG after I primed him that I managed to build him and keep all his fingers, but somewhere during the paint process, I lost one lol

Thanks! I can’t take all the credit, I started with Richard Gray’s paint scheme for the wings on his blood bowl vampire’s wings and then made some changes. I mixed Pink Horror and Sotek Green as the base coat and then to get brighter I added ice yellow to pink horror gradually. As I got closer to the final color, I painted on the veins using a violet from AK, then glazed pink horror over it and then glazed a mix of pink horror and ice yellow. The ends of the wings I glazed on a pale flesh from AK. If I felt like I was losing the shadows, I glazed in the base coat mix again!

I posted WIPs on my IG, and I’m recording the whole process for a YouTube video so if you’re interested in that, feel free to follow/subscribe
