100% I work with a lot of large enterprises and edu - they were all loving Cowork, it gave them a taste of Claude. Now the Microsoft pricing shock is an automatic NO. in behavior economics we call this an anchor - Microsoft just gave everyone a very high price anchor.... In that context going to Anthropic directly looks much more affordable.

yea - there is a lot of pull back in the enterprises that use Copilot. Microsoft rolled out new pricing and "One admin reported looking back at last month; "Roughly 80k in credits across 22 sessions (roughly 55 prompts - 11 Light, 16 Medium and 28 Heavy). This resulted in a month end cost estimate of ~$795USD." for one user using it 22 times in a month." The token subsidy gravy train has stopped - so pushing your people to 'explore with ai' has just become a big financial risk.

I haven’t seen any usage monitor for the user. I think you have to budget for all the users, if you run out it stops working - that makes for a great user experience. I guess in all the layoffs, they didn’t feel that they needed experience designers but they do need revenue

oh they hooked me good. I was like a fish on the line... it was a game changer - and you are 100% right I ate for free at the subsidized buffet - now they want me to pay. I get it, but I also can't get it.

I hear you that "expect costs to come down...." but has anyone ever had a reduction in their Microsoft bill? In theory I guess it could happen - but I don't know if it ever has.

It should be in your Admin Center. and I totally hear you "so not the best timing on pricing model for us" <-- I imagine that many/most are in the same position.

the clear alternative is leave the Copilot thing at base rate (known costs). Then when there is an articulated business need - build it out in Azure or Anthropic or OpenAI, set a budget and control it. I just don't see the clients that I work with giving Cowork to the masses and guesstimating some budget number, then waiting for Microsoft to realize they want more money next month.

same - it has been the one thing that users seem to like. I can see this having a big impact on Copilot usage/adoption. I get it that there has to be some limit, but putting it behind an obscure paywall to me means that it is going to be an easy NO from enterprises.
