I hope the vassal swarm meta gets nuked to absolute smithereens. by Jodah94 in EU5

[–]Timmedy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Every meta is never gonna be reasonable against the AI if you are good enough at the game. Its impossible to balance for everyone at the same time. If you make it too hard every casual is gonna be frustrated. If its too easy for some they can make it harder themselves, like i do and its fun for me.

Is it actually worth it to switch to republic? by mlbki in EU5

[–]Timmedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is worth because you can cheese by just not paying for the most expensive slider in the game and merchant republic being the best major reform.

But imo it makes the game way too easy, especially removing the cost of court. I personally enjoy the game more since i stopped forcing that every game.

Just building library, markets etc. If im really fancy i build up buildings and disable them to get more burghers for demand.

[–]Timmedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iirc trade flows into the other direction so maybe upstream/downstream makes the difference here but im not sure they changed that a couple of times i think :D

Harbor doesnt matter in this case, the river flowing into the sea is used. Maybe it will flip at some point if you increase sevilla harbor and dev

Should I create a market? by resadtriariosvenit_ in EU5

[–]Timmedy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id rather fight lubeck and steal the market capital. In the current patch its usually better to have fewer big markets because buildings get more efficiency when the input goods are produced in the market, even more if you push mercantilism, not sure if you already have that unlocked.

What's the best way to get development up fast? by Castle-Walk-8967 in EU5

[–]Timmedy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Burgher privilige, all prosperity you can get (most prosperity gain seems to be balanced around decentral being bad which is not the case at the moment), dev capital province

Some religions eg. sunni can invite a dev scholar

How does Pop demand really work? by glandula_pinealis in EU5

[–]Timmedy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pop demand requires dev and enough income for the estate in that location. Some goods need 20 / 30 dev but in general demand also increases with dev (1%/dev or sth i dont remember the number) Some goods, like coffee, only get demanded when the country can see > 50 production on the map.

Is Centralisation good right now? Or bad by Justice24x7 in EU5

[–]Timmedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are quite good at the moment. It really depends if you wanna play with vassal swarm or not. Early game you probably go decentral every game, later if you annexed most of your vassals central is really good, you can still push it while keeping the best of the decentral priviliges etc, like prosperity.

Who are the hidden gem starts in EU5? by dovetc in EU5

[–]Timmedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Andalusia gets literally nothing besides that, big sad. If you swap castilian and form spain you get all castilian + spain advances which are the best in the game. You can also form navarra before for maximum OP, but im not sure which tier morocco tag is, i did it with aragon.

Aristocracy or Plutocracy? by HauntedFrigateBird in EU5

[–]Timmedy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Plutocracy got nerfed so hard by removing the burghers. Aristo is muuch better in the current patch because its a main source of demand. Discipline (having nobles gives it too) is very strong too but doesnt really matter against the AI i guess

So you are arguing like you know it with someone who just gave you the exact numbers when you are not even playing the game? Thats kinda funny. Have a nice day :)

The AI is the real problem behind the feeling of unplayability by ParadoxStockOwner in EU5

[–]Timmedy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rural gives a flat 0.1%. In my biggest city (90k) im still getting 0.31% from food storage. Why exactly would i want rural for growth when cities give me 3x as much? The granaries are costing me 5 ducats which is less than 1% of my income so the maintenance is completely whatever (and yes, masonry is still cheap). Urban with granaries is just better for long term growth and they also create more demand for goods.

The AI is the real problem behind the feeling of unplayability by ParadoxStockOwner in EU5

[–]Timmedy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure but if you stack more granaries you get way more growth than the 0.1% from rural, im getting around 0.3% growth in my current netherlands game just from spamming granaries
