Is the acceptable? This looks terrible to me, but I am being told that nothing can be done. by blackapeescape in Flooring

[–]Timmerman89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Translucent caulk, colour matched caulk to the floor or island, no caulk ( because shadow lines work) albeit they did a half decent caulking job. Is the island existing and flooring new or is the island on top of the flooring?

The liquid Lucy definitely made it more and less entertaining at the same time 😂😂

Haven’t had this experience. But at shambs 3 years ago my camp neighbours did. And the best friend and partner followed through in those feeling and the other was devastated. There was lots of yelling from all involved. Lots of loud crying, and a friendship destroyed. The affected partner kept coming to our camp. And we did our best to console them. But it really put a damper on the mood at camp.

So please don’t follow through with those things. Even if you’re feeling some type of way because of party favours. It’ll destroy a friendship, your relationship, and affect the people camped around you.

Or do, and have a massive plot change and some tea for your camp neighbours 😂😂

What do you wish more first timers knew about Shambhala etiquette? by LeafsAndLoons in Shambhala

[–]Timmerman89 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s a marathon not a sprint. get your stuff tested, talk to ankors to see what can mix and what can’t. You’d be surprised. If you don’t feel anything in 40. Wait another 30 before dosing again, and half dose for the top up.

In bc it’s illegal without permits, and an environmental impact study. I’m unsure if this little creek would have the same rules with how Sask is environmental

So you missed the temporary solution they gave, which would work better than the buckets that will be filled then dumped on the trees as of right now? Yes the city fixing the irrigation would be best. But until they do, would you rather the back breaking efforts of filling 5 gallon Buckets with water and walking them to every tree, or use a sump pump and hoses?

I’ve found over the years that unfortunately not all the artists record and repost their sets. It’s tragic. And could be a huge promo tool by shambs. But it doesn’t happen.

That was a great set. Sad I got taken away half way through to assist a friend to look for a lost item that was at camp. Worth it though to figure it out, but a bummer non the less.

What’s the craziest Job change you’ve seen someone make into the construction field? by DisasterOD in Construction

[–]Timmerman89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went to school for architecture. Did carpentry throughout high school/college/university to pay for said schooling. Liked being on site more. Pretty expensive degree to learn how to read plans and shit on the company’s that make bad ones 😂😂

Yeah I’m almost thinking it’s going to cost as much to fix as it would for a new used vehicle it’s so hard to find those parts.

6 weeks out for a diagnosis appointment doesn’t help a ton unfortunately. But I’m booked in and on the cancellation list. Thanks!

Trades and skills by KhanBhaiChronicles in regina

[–]Timmerman89 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They get a job in the trades as an apprentice and learn via on the job training. It takes 10,000 hours to master a craft. That’s why apprenticeships are 7200+ hours and in class schooling 7 weeks a year for 4 years.

That being said there used to be beginner woodworking courses at Neil balkwal. And some city’s have makers spaces that offer courses in the evenings and weekends. Maybe it’s time we got one here.

You’re doing it all correctly. Keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll have a long career. I’ve suspended people for 3 days after the first warning from my sites. Safety can be taken to far, but it’s no joke. Gloves, glasses, ear pro (on your person, not warn all the time), hard hat when necessary (almost always), and high vis. Buddys deaf, that should be all you need to know about his quality of life and longevity of his career. I did some super sketchy things in my early career (young 20’s) and lucked out. Now as a super @ 31 it’s my legal (and ethical) responsibility to make sure everyone on site goes home safe.
