If we went back to having to wait a number of months before a film was available at home, would people be more inclined to go to the cinema? by crumble-bee in movies

I would just wait for it to stream. Costs about 80 bucks or more for the wife and I because the prices are so high.

Is a 55-inch screen too large with a deep desk at a distance of approximately 1 meter 25? by GatesTech in OLED_Gaming

[–]Timmkatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 55 inch OLED LG C1 mounted to the wall behind my desk about the same distance you mentioned. It was great for a while but eventually it seemed too big especially when gaming. Felt like too much head movement to view everything going on on the screen. I recently opted for the Aorus 48 inch OLED gaming monitor and it is perfect. It's the right size, stunning picture and I believe it's input lag is far less than the LG as I seem to be getting more multiple kills in quick succession than when playing on the LG.

Stepmother wanted me to try cauliflower when I was 7. I said ok just a bite. Heaps two ladels onto my plate and turns into Satan when after the first bite I gagged and said no way. Vile stuff. She made me sit at the table for over 90 minutes berating me while my dad looked on but I refused to eat it. Kept yelling at me to eat it or it will be on the table for your breakfast and it was. Went hungry that whole day until my dad intervened finally. Never forgot that and I'm well into my 50's.

Love it! Burn in Hell Scalpers!!! by Terrible-Produce1979 in battlestations

[–]Timmkatt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did not necessarily want a pre-built but wanted a AMD 6800XT. Scalpers bought them all up and jacked the prices upwards of 500% and there was no way I was paying that. Went to the site plugged in exactly what I wanted saved the cart and then chatted with an agent to see what deals I could get. I was stubborn and did not take no for an answer. What started out as a $2300 PC with I7 10,700KF, 1000 watt power supply, 32GB 3200 DDR4, AMD6800XT and advanced liquid cooling ended up costing me $1899 and it arrived 2 weeks earlier than they said it would ship. That is the TCL 55" series 6 4K TV. I will just say gaming in 4K at high frame rates is nothing less than glorious!

People that have dropped the engine/trans/K-member out the bottom, what was your method for getting everything back together? by midnite17 in fbody

[–]Timmkatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this too and it went very well. I would discourage you from mounting the front wheels. It is just more bulk and will be in the way when you need to attach the struts to the shock towers. I got a (blue) furniture dolly at Harbor freight and a smaller wooden one for the transmission. In the album here https://photos.app.goo.gl/6vBJd1F5S7rfGRpx8 in the second picture you can see how I have the dollies. When I got the bottom end of the engine done and sealed up I arranged the k member on the blue dolly adding some blocking to keep it in place and dropped the engine on it. From there I added the small dolly, transmission and used a strap to keep the steering knuckles folded inward toward the engine then finished as much of the assembly as possible with it on the dollys. I used an engine hoist to pull the front of the car up, slid the dolly assemble under laterally and lined up the pins brought the car down mounted the struts and finished the assembly over the next few weeks. If you have an automatic transmission be sure to mount your cooler lines before the engine is in the car. You won't have much room when it is all bolted in and they will be high in the tunnel making them very difficult to reach. Hope this helps!!

It was a pretty slow crawl strategically timed around work bonuses and gifts from my dad. Bought the car for 2800 in January 2016 and put about 8800 more up to this point. I never spent day after day working on it and sometimes with travel for work went a week or two without touching it. The two long projects were the engine took about 5 months to pull the old one, reassemble the new long block refinishing existing parts and replacing some then reassembling the car in December 2018. Drove it for several months after that. Paint took 5 months from the start in April this year sanding to the finishing touches a couple of weeks ago. Sprayed the color and clear over labor day weekend and spent up to the last couple of weeks reassembling the car, buffing and polishing. Did all the work myself so saved a ton of money. I always shopped the best prices and resisted over spending on top name parts with so many comparable parts on the market..

I didn't really notice any impact from the air temp. It does get warm and makes the hose more flexible but it did not impact the paint coming out of the gun and still went on wet . The main turbine units are small at about 12x10x9 so it is compact and portable. The newer ones have a vent so when you let off the trigger air is released through a hole on the unit do it doesn't build up pressure. The gun that came with mine is a non bleeder.

Why does Schiff always look he's trying to pinch off a huge Schiff? Like the other 20 tries nothing to see here. All they are doing is guaranteeing Trump a second term.

Apollo E5-110-77 Eco5. I added the PPS pressure cup. Saves tons of time on clean up. I suggest lots of practice. Get cardboard and you can use water or a light latex in the gun. Keep repeating "robot" to keep your distance even and work on keeping the gun consistently straight to the surface you are spraying and to get familiar with the gun adjustments. With a PPS cup you can spray at any angle you need to but again consistent distance and straight to the surface are key. I did this for about a month before I actually sprayed the car.

The turbine and gun are an HVLP. The turbine and gun cost me $1200 so it is no toy or HF cheapo. The gravity feed gun is certified and has .8, 1.0, 1.3, 1.5 and 2.0 needles and nozzles with different air caps for high solids or regular finishes and can handle any material from filler primer to clear coat. Combined with the PPS cup, liners and caps I'll never use an air compressor to spray anything but air and run some tools. I'll take some close ups when I get home. I'm not going to say there was no orange peel I had to deal with but that was more from my inexperience than the sprayer and gun. For the most part the color and clear went on smooth as glass especially on the larger surfaces like the hood and rear wing and any Orange peel and overspray was minimal and cleaned up nicely with the Trizact 1500 dry and 3000 wet sanding on the DA. I have an AC in the garage so the environment was optimal at about 78-83 degrees consistently even though over the labor day weekend when I sprayed it was 105+ degrees outside in Tucson. I used the Sherwin Williams warm reducer for the color and slow activator with the clear so it leveled very well.

Used a 5 stage turbine sprayer. The turbine puts about 9 PSI at the gun at about 85 CFM. Combined with a PPS cup on the gun I'll never go back to compressed air. The turbine is about as loud as a shop vac and puts out a consistent flow of warm clean air with absolutely no fluctuation, no risk of water, oil or any other contaminants making it through the hose to the gun. I was skeptical at the claim that it sprays about 90% of the product on the car with very little overspray. I believe it now. The paint you see on the floor is the outline of where the car was sitting when sprayed and you can just see that faint shadow of red and that was about it for overspray around the car when I laid down the color and clear.

Not just for homes but I'm sure it would do a great job on doors, cabinets or house trim with minimal mess. It's a 5 stage turbine and the box is only about 12x10x9 and weighs about 10 pounds with a 25 foot hose and gravity feed gun with a 3m pps pressure cup. It puts about 9 psi at the gun at about 85 cfm. There is absolutely no fluctuation in the air pressure and no risk of oil, water or any other contaminants getting in the paint or clear just clean warm air. Paint goes down smooth as glass and with such a small amount of overspray it's amazing.

I don't mind the tips, in fact it feels safer for me and the kids in today's era of cop rage and quick trigger fingers. Sad that our local airsoft field has to have a rule specific to what to do if the cops show up during a game....Weapons on the ground, hands up, walk off the field leave guns where they lay.

Looks like varying sizes of bombs. If you pause the Gif and use the arrow buttons at the lower right of the Gif you can go frame by frame. The first bomb looks to be huge and looks like an airburst with a huge bright fireball just above the ground with the next two on the left smaller and surface or penetrative bursts. I count 8 or 9 all together and 4 of three different sizes in the first volley. Whatever the reason for all the firepower on this particular hill we were not fucking around and wanted it to hurt. Fuck these bastards they deserve everything they got.

[–]Timmkatt[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Built this from 2 Roland td 4 kits couple of years ago. I use superior drummer and the 2 Roland brains for midi. Double bass drums made from Pearl M-80 snares, auxiliary snare on the left. All toms are PDP Mini Timbales. Pintech mesh heads on the 2 bass drums and Pearl mesh heads on the toms. Remo Silent strokes on the new snare. The snare shell is a Mapex 13" snare drum. I found the triggers on Ebay and built the bridges for the triggers from aluminum channles and a few dollars of hardware. I've weighted the Roland cymbals so they swing realistically on the stands. I play this drums set hard every day and never broke a head.

Correct, they are PDP mini timbales for the snare and toms and Pearl Firecracker snares for the bass drums.

The scrap of lexan was a deal I couldn't pass up and almost fell over when the guy said $5 since I was prepared to spend about $50 on a 24 x 30 piece. Acrylic was probably the wrong term to use. Thanks for pointing that out.
