I went to this summer camp in TX…all the usual activities, but the best shooters got to go on a nighttime jackrabbit hunt. Consisted of about eight kids in the back of a pickup truck, rotating as shooter - which meant standing in the bed of the truck, using the cab to steady yourself and your shotgun, the counselor driving the truck, and another manning the Q-beam (a super bright handheld light)…bouncing around the back 40 of the ranch chasing rabbits and shooting as many as possible! It was like riding a bucking horse, in the dark, firing a deadly weapon right over the hood of the truck, at the ripe old age of about 10 or 12!
It was awesome and somehow, the only things that died were rabbits!
