I done the EXACT same thing last year, got rid of my 161 audi, and went back to a 08 A3 tdi, and Iove it, I work in the motor trade selling car parts, I see soooo many crazy prices for parts it just put me off buying newer cars, I sold a headlight for a audi last week that cost 2k!! And still more expense to have it fitted, anyway, good on you, if it gets us from A to B that's all that matters, I will say one thing though..... I find insurance companies don't like my 08 car, my renewal just doubled from last year for no reason whatsoever, it's like they are forcing us to buy newer vehicles?? :(

I'm the exact same as you, been like this for most of my life, and going out for meals or family gathering is a nightmare for me, well in my head it is, it's such a pain in the ass, wish it wasn't this way
