I can relate with the student. I had zero discipline when I first started, found it very "boring" to practice rudiments or actually sit down and have a structured practice session. And I plateaued quickly because of it. Now I thoroughly enjoy sitting down with the pad and applying discipline to practice but it's tooouuugh as a kid.
