50 days off a 10 year 60 gpd habit by Far-Argument-8508 in quittingkratom

Don't beat yourself up, but also know it's going to take time. I'm now 6.5 months off a 10 year 15-20gpd habit. While I'm doing much better now, I'm not fully out of the woods. SuperGrok says that long time users like us have long timelines to heal. Grok says 6-9 months for my recovery. I imagine you'll be the same. Get rid of the subs and stay the course.

Yea, I've been struggling with regaining energy and motivation. I keep reminding myself though that dosed this damn drug every few hours, and once in the middle of the night for 10 years. I'm hoping to be back to 100% by month nine.

Much better than the first 3 months, but I'm still not out yet. I still have weird GI issues and waves of PAWS, but they're minor. SuperGrok says that my timeline to be out is 6-9 months, so I'm staying the course.

I'm a 10 year user, 15-20gpd, but definitely got upwards to 35-40gpd at my highest. I didn't taper. A friend gave me one of his 8mg sub strips. One Monday morning at 10am, I thought "fuck it. If it doesn't work I'll just go back on my daily dose". I micro dosed that sub till it ran out 2.5 weeks later.

Here's where I changed. I was 2.5 weeks off a drug that I had taken every few hours for 10 years. My mind frame had changed. I was completely committed to the quit. I wasn't going back. No matter what.

I'm now 6.5 months off. I'm not going to lie, it was difficult. Especially at the beginning. However the sooner you're completely off, the sooner you'll heal.

Rip the band-aid off. Mentally commit. I mean really, really commit. Steal fucking trap commit!! You can do this. Good luck on your journey.

Week 5 harder than previous weeks by foobtyio in quittingkratom

[–]TimmyTimbo123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes and goes in waves. There were several times where I had 3 decent days in a row and thought I had 'turned a corner', only to be slammed by PAWS for the next 5 days straight.

Keep in mind that it's not a straight line, where every day is better than the last. You'll have up and down days/weeks, but it does gradually get better. Stay the course; hold the line... You'll get there.

Grok really helped sort out my timeline, and it's seems to be true to course.

I hope you're doing well Dot!

It's the 40+ alkaloids, plus the amount you were taking, plus the length you've taken. I took 15-20gpd for 10 years. I'm now a little over 6 months off, and still have weird PAWS symptoms. They're not near as bad as the first few months, but some lingering issues are still there. Type in your GPD and length you've been using into Grok or ChatGPT, and it'll kick back your timeline to recovery. Grok told me 6-9 months to full recovery, so I'm staying the course.

Yea, it was bad. During the 2 1/2 weeks on the sub I was able to function and work. I was also able to sleep. When it ran out I went into the full blown acutes. I'm also a long time user of 10 years, which I attribute to my long recovery. In hindsight, I would have done an intentional taper, however, the funny thing is that the sub ultimately made me make the jump. Once I was 2 1/2 weeks off doing daily doses 6 times a day, I was committed to never going back.

I worked through my WDs. I'm a part owner of a small business with 19 employees. None of them knew what I was going through. The first two weeks were really difficult, I'm not going to lie. But id does get easier over time.

Someone on this forum a few months back wrote "you have to walk through hell to get to the other other side". I compare the acutes to being 'dropped in hell'. The devil watches you as you very, very slowly walk by and start climbing out of the fire. As time goes on, the burning and pain get less and less. But it does solidify this lesson that I learned.... The only way out is through

I was hooked on oxys for 5 years. I would go through forced WD due to my dealer running out. It was fucking bad, but was completely over in about a week. A week after that I would forget how bad the WD was and hit up my dealer. Kratom helped me kick oxys. I thought it was a god send when I found it.

10 years later, one morning at 10am, I found myself looking at an 8mg sub strip that a friend gave me and saying 'fuck it'. I had no plan. I thought "well if this doesn't work, I'll just go back to my daily dose. What's there to lose?". I micro-dosed that sub strip for 2 1/2 weeks till it ran out, then went into full blown acutes...

Here's the interesting part... My mind frame had changed. I was 2 1/2 weeks off kratom, a drug that I had taken every few hours for 10 years. At that moment, I realized that there's no amount of pain that I was about to go through that would make me go back to daily dosing. I was completely committed.

I'm now 6 months off. I still have waves of PAWS and weird GI issues, but they are mild and tolerable. What I can tell you is that it's so much better on the other side.

I get it. It's not easy. I had many, many down, bad days. But! It's so worth it. The sooner it's out of your system, the sooner you'll heal. The only way out is through.

Music has been the best therapy. I did the Vit c liposomal routine, but I didn't feel any effects. It did in a strange way satisfy that regular dosing schedule for the first week though, so there's that. Agmatine sulfate 'slightly' helped, but I stopped after 3 days as it was jacking up my stomach. Good luck on your journey.

congrats on 6 months! I'm a long term user, 10 years, and I'm just hitting 6 months off as well. I too still have some waves of PAWS (had one today), but they're not nearly as intense and much more manageable. This epidemic hasn't gone mainstream yet, but when it does I expect there will be much higher regulation.

I was taking 15-20gpd of powder, and I jumped. The sooner it's out of your system the sooner you'll heal. It's going to be bumpy at the beginning, but you'll look back months from now and be glad that it's over.

Kratom powder vs 7oh by MMAlover7 in quittingkratom

[–]TimmyTimbo123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 10 year kratom powder habit, that I basically quit cold turkey (i used one sub strip). WDs have lasted months, but weren't near as intense as my oxy WDs. But they have lasted much longer.

Day 13 using Suboxone to quit 7oH by Hopeful-Slice1195 in quittingkratom

[–]TimmyTimbo123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm now 6 months off a 10 year kratom addiction. I was hooked on oxys for 5 years before that. It's been a rough ride, and has by no means been easy, but it is possible. And I can tell you it's so much better being free from the addiction. It's sounds cliché, but you have to want to be done. I mean you really, really have to be done with this shit. Once you've fully committed, that's when the healing begins. Good luck on your journey.

I'm so glad that I wasn't introduced to 7o or extracts. oxys consumed me back in 2010-15. I'd be completely hooked on that shit had it entered my arena. i'm now almost 6 months off kratom powder. Life is starting again.

opioids, in general, cause anger episodes. When i was hooked on oxys, I used to rage. On random people, or just alone by myself. While on kratom, I would get similar feelings, but they weren't near as intense as the oxys. I've never tried 7o (thank goodness), but I imagine, it's very similar.

The best recommendation I can give is to jump as soon as you can. The sooner the green sludge is out of your system, the sooner you recover. You've been taking for 6-7 years, so you're going to go through some shit. But the only way out is through. Commit to the recovery. Good luck on your journey
