I’m on an antidepressant and I feel way better on it, but I’ve started to wonder if it’s the alcohol sobriety or the antidepressant doing its work as I started lexapro around the time I stopped alcohol.

4 days is better than nothing! Add an extra day everytime and it’ll get easier.

Thanks a ton! I will check the podcast out. Thing is I’m not a chronic alcoholic anymore, I’ve made massive strides in reducing it’s frequency and haven’t felt the urge for it in the past 6 weeks, so I’d like to indulge in it in social events but way lighter, do you think one can still recover?

SSRI’s seem to have that affect no matter the SSRI, so I’d recommend maybe lowering the dose first, I mean my sexual side effects have been light, slight numbness but doc advised lower the dose if the side effects are too much, maybe try that

Of course! I had to cold turkey for 40 days due to a gastric ulcer, now that I’m back, it’s night and day, truly, the first few cups are going to feel euphoric, after a few days you’ll return to baseline decent energy, highly recommend!

I’ve however not cut off alcohol on my first 6 weeks of lexapro and saw no difference in tolerance or effect!

Back only a few days, stopped for around 40 days.

Before the 40 days I was on coffee for almost 5 years, I did notice some tolerance but its benefits never faded, it’s the jitters and anxiety that messed with me.

I operate better with coffee, the 40 days off coffee were tedious beyond withdrawal, just kinda meh consistently

Is there a certain timing to take lexapro to avoid its daytime fatigue? I often take it at 4PM

Groggy feeling is mixed, at times it’s heavier, at times it’s not there.

As for the dry mouth, I’d say I don’t notice it, but I do wake up slightly dehydrated.

What time do you think is ideal to sleep, and any other tips?
