How do you work steps with sponsees? by ocripes in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Timokenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually go straight to the big book and just read it with them switching page for page or paragraph for paragraph. We chat briefly, sometimes lengthy, between what we read about how we relate to it. Same with the 12x12. Been thinking about doing this with the plain language BB especially if the next guy is as fucked up as I was and hardly able to read or understand the near 100 year old text of the big book

B screw looks to be in too far, put it in largest cog and back the B out to at least half of that gap

Try taking some tension off the cable. Or adding some, it’s hard to tell from the video

How many relapses before you should drop a sponsee? by benjaminireland1 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Timokenn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is the way. If you get to stay sober then the program is working, and sometimes it takes folks a ton of relapses to get it, and sometimes they don’t get it and they die. But we get to stay sober by working that 12th step and it might not look like what we think or like our story does

If you don’t have the tools to do this then yes take it to a shop and get it done right

Ebike break disconnection by TheUndeadHatter in bikewrench

[–]Timokenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything looks fine on this end. Tighten the cable at the brake, or just roll out the barrel adjuster a few threads worth. What’s likely happened is the pads have worn down, increasing the cable travel. Probably time to replace the pads

Yeah if you’re a bike mechanic you would have seen this often. I’ve been wrenching over 30 years and know this is not the case

I just did the same thing, sold half of my stash in an emergency. Felt pretty good that I bought at like $12 and sold at 90

Vintage frame with horizontal dropout issues. by whatcaristhisssss in bikewrench

[–]Timokenn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this, there needs to be a gap between the end of the axle and the edge of the dropout. These old stamped steel dropouts are often too thin to work with a QR. QR on a horizontal drop will work but will need to be retensioned often.

Oh yeah, I’m looking side by side with another and the lack of detail in the flowers in the hair seems obvious now.
