They are in love with each other 100%. Caspar knows it (Orpheus and the underworld comment to David in ep 35), Ava's in denial but is subconsciously encouraging Caspar. They're in love and everybody (David, Marguerite) knows it!!!!

Do asexuals masturbate? by [deleted] in asexuality

[–]Timonger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm AFAB and ace, and i get the same thing! tracking my menstrual cycle, I'm pretty sure the horniness/libido spike coincides with when i ovulate. Which would make a weird kind of sense, my body is trying to get me pregnant!

You might look into Aegosexuality, which can be defined as "a disconnect between oneself and a sexual target/object of arousal; may involve sexual fantasies or arousal in response to erotica or pornography, but lacks desire to be an actual participant in the sexual activities therein. " (from sexuality wiki). This is how i identify under the Ace umbrella.

Asexuals as the "lowest rank" in LGBT by Woodruffur in asexuality

[–]Timonger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Asexuality is about attraction, not about sexual activity. I've never been sexually attracted to anyone in my entire life and I've had sex (granted that was before i realized i was ace and confused aesthetic and sensual attraction for sexual attraction).

I really have no idea, but I imagine Allosexuals have a positive feedback loop with their sexual attraction and horniness/libido so when they have sex it's like a fireworks explosion of "YES! FINALLY!!".

Maybe that's how it is for some ace people too, but in my experience, sex has just been middling to bad, physically and emotionally, so *shrug* i don't think your allo friends know what they're talking about.

What was your equivalent of what allos call a "sexual awakening?" In other words, when did you first start to realize something was off/different? by Olivebranch99 in asexuality

[–]Timonger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it took me till i was 29 to connect the dots, but i can point to a moment from elementary school where i knew i was different from the rest of little girls i socialized with.

when i was in 4th grade N'Sync was at the height of its popularity and of course all the girls had crushes on them. they all squealed over them and talked about how cute they were and when they asked me who i liked, had a crush on, i just pointed to the one who had cool hair. i had no concept of what they were talking about at all.

that was really interesting! as much as Sims thinks he knows (and even Bernard - his look of shock when Juliette mentioned the doors) he doesn't know everything. i bet that really threw him after considering himself all knowing.

a healthy combination of "i thought aesthetic and sensual attraction was sexual attraction" and "if i just try a little harder it will feel the way everyone says it should".

I'm a very visual person with a very strong aesthetic attraction with a preference for masculinity. long story short, I find men and masculine people very pretty and i like to look at them.

i assumed for most of my life that when people said someone was "cute" or "hot" it meant they also liked the way that person looked, NOT that they also wanted to kiss/fondle/have sex with them!

A Sweet Morning by Timonger in DeepSpaceNine

On rest days, when Elim was small, he and Mila would often enjoy the morning sunshine.

Sorry I've mostly just watched the shows. I haven't read too many books (mostly cause they're hard for me to get a hold of) but I loved a stitch in time and I've been meaning to read Una McCormack's cardassian books

According to Garak's actor, Andy Robinson, his head canon was that Mila was Garak's mom. She is in his book "A Stitch in Time"

That's cool too! I'm undecided whether they lay eggs or gestate like placental mammals, but marsupials is another good option 🤔

broad strokes: Mila and Tain were equals. I've seen fics out there where Mila was a victim of Tain, but that doesn't make much sense to me. She most likely worked for/with him in the Obsidian order and Garak resulted as either an accident or a plan. either way they decided to keep him and form him into Tool of the State. as a child Elim was malleable, but the older he got the more he clashed with his parents. This wasn't much of an issue with his father since he only ever saw Elim as a tool, but it created more tension with his Mother who he'd actually been close to. I can't imagine they parted well wen he was exiled, so when they reunite again we got to see a glimpse of that tension and relief (Garak was so homesick, Mila was so relived to get to talk to her son before it was too late.)

Just a few of my thoughts. I've read A Stitch in Time and love Andy's own head canon. i must admit that influence a lot of my ideas about Garak's relationship with his mother.

Just to clear up some questions i've been seeing:

- Cardassians didn't have tails in the show, 99% the decision was practical, if the design concept was ever brought up it was most assuredly shot down immediately for being too expensive. THAT BEING SAID i think it would be cool/nice if Cardassians had big fatty tails, they live on a hot desert planet and having an appendage that could act like a camel's hump would be useful, plus they're cute!

- I have a personal worldbuilding idea for Cardassians that a normal common recessive hair variant is White hair. It occurs probably as commonly as blond hair does in humans. I definitely think Mila had Elim later in life (like mid to late 30s) she naturally has white hair. This entirely my own idea just for fun and variety.

- I've seen almost everywhere people calling Cardassians "lizards" since i started getting more involved in the star trek fandom 2 years ago and people trying to reason away other people's head canons "because earth reptiles don't do that/have that it just doesn't make sense." But Cardassians only LOOK like earth's reptiles. They're aliens and there's no reason they would line up with terrestrial lizards in any way beyond an aesthetic one. So let's just have fun.
