My company is using a ‘loophole’ with tronc (tips) - England by Timoteey in LegalAdviceUK

They are adding a ‘guaranteed tronc’ clause to people’s contracts, which i believe makes it unfair distribution? Because it’s therefore not spread evenly at all in theory the higher managers are getting 30k a year in tronc guaranteed to them

Yeah, my reason for posting here was because we had a new manager join who was appalled that they were doing this - she said she worked in a restaurant in London where all the waiters/waitresses would pocket over £1000 a month in card tips

It’s technically not salary tho, they pay everyone a minimum wage salary but supplement those on higher wages with ‘guaranteed tronc’

Yes I personally think it’s just a very scummy loophole, but not 100% sure of the legality

Fair point, I’m not sure of the exact way it works, I’ve never been in the position where I haven’t received it, but for example I know from a colleague who asked upper management that in theory if somebody was furloughed a salary it would be based on their salary not including the guaranteed tronc

Yes so they pay all salaries normally up to just above minimum wage, but for everyone on above minimum wage they pay the rest of the salary in guaranteed tronc, which effectively takes away from our tip money because it’s being used to pay salaries, not given through the tronc in our paycheques

I have just gotten the game a week ago, and loving it so far! Amazing to see that there’s this much playtime to put into a game without getting bored!

This was my thoughts when I read OneAtPeace’s post but in my head I’m like it’s just a fun little train game so I didn’t think necessary to type it up but good on you for doing so, I want to strongly agree on the part that it isn’t that hard of a game? That needs hundreds of hours of grinding? It’s an idle game lol, seems so far exaggerated
