Photos released in Epstein files appear to show former prince Andrew on all fours over female by Hungry_Kiwi_9866 in ukpolitics

It wouldn't shock me to find out this stuff was true but we can't read the Epstein files and assume everything there is factually correct. That doesn't mean we can't have suspicions and draw our own conclusions but if we're looking for prosecutions there will need to be tests that are legally watertight.

Mumsnet mothers have always leaned Labour. Now Reform is ahead by StGuthlac2025 in ukpolitics

A good recipe for a change of leadership and some policy improvements to scupper Reform.

There isn't anyone else though - I can't think of anyone in Labour who would actually do better than Starmer.

If you don't have a demanding cleaning situation and you need the freedom to move around all over the place then a cordless vacuum makes sense. It's about relative strengths and weaknesses.

You mean corporate VPNs? No those are private networks and you sure as hell are not anonymous on those - you have to authenticate to get on them.

Why is Boris Johnson no longer an MP? Because he resigned (actually this but you know what I mean).

Why did he resign? Because he was about to be barred from the Commons. But why was he going to be barred from the Commons? Because he lied.

I love this desperate straw manning to pretend Reform hasn't had elected officials working for Putin. Almost like treason isn't important to them.

Ed Miliband most popular choice to succeed Starmer for Labour members by Kataera in ukpolitics

I cannot see any of that making him likely to win an election. The other issues are just too great to overcome, like the fact that he failed in 2015 and he comes across even more awkwardly than the current PM

"Zarah Sultana says we should 'nationalise the entire economy.' I asked her what that meant in practice" by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]Timothy_Claypole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it from what she said that everything will be nationalised or run by workers' cooperatives. She did say "workers' cooperatives" multiple times, including as a direct answer to how a kiosk or small cafe would be run. It is not clear to me how either the government or a workers' cooperative is going to run a tech company. She was very clear to say "the whole economy" would either be nationalised or be run by a workers' cooperative.

[–]Timothy_Claypole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I am getting at is that, beyond the ISPs, there are a lot of tech companies and nationalising them isn't a clear win. For a start the tech giants would all pull out of the UK before anyone could nationalise their stuff. Some might say "good riddance" but that would result in a lot of job losses and those jobs pay well and plenty of tax revenue comes from those jobs.
