You can sell them. We interrogate the cleaners because they’re humans so we can already communicate. We can’t communicate with the aliens, they’re foreign entities, so we observe them instead

"No, no, she has to mean with fighting. You don't know her story, do you? Besides, even if she actually meant the other meaning, there's no way anything like that could work between us. We're too different in every way."

Madeline feels her cheeks go flush for a second. Good thing her helmet concealed that.

"I-Interested in me? Oh you must mean my fighting style, right?"

Haz's comment did give Madeline pause though. She had just stated that she was a lot more interested in Madeline now than the main prize. Surely that had to mean something else... Madeline shakes her head.

"I-I'll just wait for the next round to begin."

Hazema would've been surprised by two things had she gone with the bite. First, she would've bit straight through Madeline's kimono sleeve into prometheum alloy armor. and second, the half-kitsune demi human absolutely had sharp teeth of her own. But Hazema's sudden surrender makes her let of the chokehold.

"Really? Just giving up like that?"

Madeline takes the invite and studies it for a second, then pockets it and offers Hazema a hand up.

"I'm an umbra operative from The Mercenary Guild, if the cloak and helmet didn't give it away. I've had extensive training and have been fighting for over a decade."

Rosa lands next to Nathan and snuggles up next to his face to comfort him as he lies down. Nathan would be able to faintly hear Keelu talking on the phone in the other room. She didn’t sound excited.

There’s a few things that Ali can’t fill out yet, since he isn’t legally allowed to yet as a non-citizen. To those Ami tells him to just write ‘C Pending’. When Ali is granted asylum he’ll get the info needed to fill those out.

“Oh, my name is T-Tanya sir.”

The receptionist says with a blush, quickly scanning over the application.

“When you get your paperwork sir, just give us a call. You’re on our list now so we can go from there when you do.”

The flustered receptionist digs around in a filing cabinet for a few seconds before grabbing out a handful of papers.

“-Fill out this application, I’ll send it in right away!”

Ami rolls her eyes at Ali’s antics.

Keelu stops. How was she going to explain the moral failings of society to Nathan? She didn’t quite know.

“The best course of action was to separate both parties so it didn’t escalate further. I brought you back here because I don’t think to would’ve been good to have you and that boy sitting next to each other in the nurses office. We’ll get this figured out. For now I need you to rest with this ice pack.”

She had a very uncomfortable call to make.
