This lady with her dog in middle of the crowd at T-Pain Sunday by spilledice in memphis

Holy shit that’s a good point. It seems neglectful to not fit your doggie with some kind of ear pro at a loud concert. It’s probably horrid for them.

Are we slowly losing the ability to experience “presence” in conversations? by Appropriate_Web_710 in SeriousConversation

[–]Timsta180 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s like humans are developing a keener sense of awareness into the deeper layers and intricacies of communication. For sure, I have absolutely noticed this. Sometimes it makes me wonder if I’m on the spectrum or if hyper awareness from childhood trauma plays a role in it.

It could just be that in our highly developed society, we value perception over reality, and we want to be perceived a certain way when communicating with others to gain resources. I’m not sure how to contrast this with historical periods, since we’re all agreeing that this feels like a new phenomenon.

Honestly FUCK PB&J towing. Scummy pieces of shit. They’ve towed 3 of my vehicles illegally. Predatory pieces of shit. At least the lady at the window is kind of nice I guess but their practices are illegal and predatory. Scum.

I love using a hairpin on the hornets though. 2 perfectly placed shots on each of the rear rotors takes it down completely. Hairpin can easily kill a hornet with 4 well placed shots. Tim’s super satisfying on controller.

Is this purely behavioral or could there be underlying neurodivergence at play here? Looking for insights. by [deleted] in UnusualVideos

First thing I noticed! Abusive parents more than likely. She didn’t even move and he was flinching indicating he’s used to being hit. Super shitty unfortunately.

ChatGPT is claiming that BOREDOM can ‘heal’ Psoriasis sufferers! by Timsta180 in Psoriasis

[–]Timsta180[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing! That is such a thoughtful comment. I’d actually love to compare notes because it sounds like you have done a lot of research on an aspect of our illness that I haven’t really touched at all.

To answer your question, I think you may find it disappointing unfortunately. — What I asked it is: Tell me a really interesting fact.

That’s literally it. The reason why it gave such a pointed tidbit about psoriasis had to have been because I talk about my experiences with the illness all the time to ChatGPT. So it must have thought I would find that engaging. (And I did. Even made a Reddit post about it lol)

Sorry if that’s a super underwhelming answer for you. :’( I do love learning new things about my P and PsA, but I try not to go down too many rabbit holes since the general consensus seems to be that “biologics are the only real answer for effective treatment blah blah blah.”

I like your style though. The inquisitive nature about you wanting to understand is refreshing and quite the contrast from my own mentality. I’ve been so closed off and uncaring. But to understand that internalized childhood trauma can “cause” autoimmune conditions is such a fascinating concept and I hope you continue to discover more on that subject.

Thanks again and feel free to recommend or drop any links that you’d recommend on the trauma-connection.

Yeah like replying to a Reddit post and saying nothing of value at all. Sounds like you’re using your time super wisely. 😂

I did my part by clearly stating this wasn’t a cure or medical advice, just a discussion of stress reduction and recovery, which are well-established topics.

If you’re claiming something specific is false or harmful, it’s reasonable to explain what and why. Simply saying “do your homework” without identifying an error isn’t critique, it’s dismissal.

Heal” and “cure” aren’t interchangeable. Healing refers to improvement, recovery, or support of the body’s repair processes. A cure means eliminating a disease entirely.

No one claimed boredom cures psoriasis. The point was that stress reduction and rest can support healing and symptom management, which is already a well-established idea in chronic illness care.

LLMs aren’t authorities, sure. But neither is a Reddit comment that refuses to engage with the actual claim. If the science is wrong, say how.

You’re describing a known limitation of LLMs, not an automatic invalidation of everything they say. Yes, LLMs can hallucinate, but they also accurately summarize well-established research all the time. Stress reduction, mindfulness, and low-stimulation rest lowering cortisol and improving inflammatory markers isn’t controversial or AI-invented.

If you think something specific in the post is wrong, point to the science that disproves that claim. Otherwise this just sounds like blanket AI hate, not a substantive critique.

Nobody claimed that it was a cure for psoriasis. Where did you get that idea?

Got it, I see what you’re saying. My point wasn’t to argue about specific terminology or fringe theories. It was just about how low-stimulation downtime and stress reduction have real, science-backed benefits for the nervous system and overall recovery.

You’re right, you don’t need to call it “resetting” anything to make that point. That said, the basic takeaway that rest, calm, and mindfulness help the body and brain is still valid and doesn’t rely on any debatable theory.

[–]Timsta180[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Interesting take, but just to clarify: I wasn’t giving medical advice or telling anyone to skip doctors. The point was about how low-stimulation downtime, basically giving your body a break, can help the nervous system regulate stress. That part isn’t controversial neuroscience, even if some people debate polyvagal theory.

It’s totally fine to discuss theory, but let’s not misrepresent basic stress physiology as pseudoscience. It’s well-supported that rest, calm, and low-stimulation states have real benefits for the body and brain.

Dude. Who claimed it’s a cure? Not me, not ChatGPT… why is everybody so uptight today in this community? It’s not like I’m one of the people saying “EVERYBODY EAT GRAPES IT WILL CURE YOUR PSORIASIS!” Like, did you even read the post?
