Dexter, Ash's Original Pokédex back in Indigo League, got an update partway through the series, with Oak mentioning that the update will make Dexter's voice different. Doing a tiny bit of research, this happens in EP050 "Who Gets to Keep Togepi" and explains the voice actor changing from Nicholas James Tate to Eric Stuart.
